According to news, the forthcoming 2023 Land Rover Defender is coming, and it will be more capable of handling extreme terrain thanks to some modifications. However, it still looks boxy, but the manufacturer blended modern conveniences and vintage styling to keep up with other models in the segment.
Basically, buyers are offered a plethora of advanced off-roading equipment, which includes locking differentials, a height-adjustable air suspension, and some of the special modes. Just like the exterior, the interior of this SUV is extremely handsome thanks to high-quality materials and some advanced technology. The Land Rover Defender still uses a turbocharged four-cylinder as standard, while more powerful inline-six and V-8 engines are available optionally. In case you didn’t know, all Defenders come standard with all-wheel drive.
2023 Land Rover Defender Exterior
The new 2023 Land Rover Defender is the SUV that’s mostly recognized for its boxy and modern styling. This model shares many design cues from the outgoing Defender models and the current Land Rover design language. Thanks to that, it features a premium yet decidedly rugged aesthetic.
Just like the Jeep Wrangler and the Ford Bronco, the new Defender can be chosen with either 2-door and 4-door body styles. The 2-door Defender 90 has a shorter wheelbase and reduced overall length for better off-roading. Anyway, the 4-door Defender 110 offers more room and is more family-friendly. Despite that, it’s still a stellar off-roader.
Premium Interior
The 2023 Land Rover Defender’s cabin is premium and modern. Thanks to a boxy profile, the new Defender comes with a pretty roomy interior. However, cargo space behind the rear seat is limited, but is on par with the Wrangler. It is worth noting that the rear seats can increase cargo capacity by folding seats.
As standard, the Defender comes with a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system running on the latest Pivi Pro. However, you can still get a larger 11.4-inch display, which is optional. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are both standard, as well as an in-dash navigation system, a six-speaker stereo, and an onboard Wi-Fi hotspot.
Which is the Most Powerful Defender’s Engine?
Just like before, the forthcoming 2023 Land Rover Defender uses the same turbocharged four-cylinder engine as standard. This engine comes with a eight-speed automatic transmission and is capable of producing 296-hp.
The new Defender is also available with a 3.0-liter inline-six electric supercharger 48-volt hybrid system. However, if you’re seeking more power, you can opt for the 518-hp supercharged V-8. This model according to Land Rover, will be able to run from 0 to 60 mph in just 5.1 seconds.
