The all-new 2023 BMW iX is an electric SUV that looks really unique and futuristic. Like the smaller X5 model, the BMW iX offers a similar interior with plenty of room and practicality. Also, the cabin is made of fine materials, and the manufacturer added a very large digital dashboard displays paired with BMW’s iDrive system.
The highlight of this model is definitively its electric engine that consists of two electric motors providing all-wheel drive. This engine produces 516 horsepower in the xDrive50 and a whopping 610-hp in the M60. BMW claims that with a large battery pack, this SUV has enough juice for an estimated driving range of over 300 miles per charge.
2023 BMW iX Exterior
This SUV dominates with its futuristic styling on both the front and rear. Size-wise, the 2023 BMW iX is similar to the BMW X5 model. However, it features different lines which make it look more aggressive. Firstly, the BMW iX hallmark is the front end that comes with a very large grille and headlights that are way more eye-catchy than on any other BMWs vehicle.
The new iX M60 is the pinnacle on offer thanks to a roof made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic and brake calipers that are painted a special shade of blue. This model also rides on 22-inch alloy wheels that match the Bronze vehicle finish.
Stuning Interior
Inside, the 2023 BMW iX offers the same sized cabin as the company’s mid-size X5 and X6 crossovers. Nevertheless, it is worth mentioning that the passenger and cargo space are similar to those models as well. The interior design is modern and the iX hosts some of the high-tech elements. It includes a large curved touchscreen of 14.9-inch combined with a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster.
Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard. As well as a Wi-Fi hotspot with a 5G cellular connection. With the base model, you’ll get an 18-speaker Harman/Kardon stereo system, while upper trims have a 30-speaker Bowers & Wilkins setup.
2023 BMW iX Motor Setup
The new 2023 BMW iX is an all-electric SUV that is powered by a very potent two electric motors and a large battery. Two different variants of the iX are available, and the first is the xDrive50, which is powered by a pair of electric motors producing combined 516 hp.
All-wheel drive is standard, and from first testing the xDrive50 is able to run from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.0 seconds. On the other hand, the high-performance variant, called M60, also uses two electric motors, but it produces 610 hp. This model has enough power to rocket from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.6 seconds, while the driving range is over 300 miles per charge.
2023 BMW iX Price, Release Date
The new 2023 BMW iX is not an affordable SUV at all. As we mentioned, there will be two different variants, and the base xDrve50 starts at $85,000. More expensive for a reason is the M60 model that can pass $106,000.
The BMW iX competed with established all-electric rivals such as the Audi Q6 e-tron, Tesla Model X, and should also stack up well against upcoming Fisker Ocean and the Rivian R1S.
