2023 Acura MDX Three-Row Luxury SUV Officially Confirmed

2023 Acura MDX front

The redesigned 2023 Acura MDX three-row luxury SUV will reportedly make its premiere next year. From the available information, we can expect this model to debut in the summertime. As you probably know, this SUV is one of the most favorites in the mid-size segment. It comes with an attractive design and an even better cabin. On top of that, the interior is spacious, and the new three-row mid-size luxury crossover should introduce some upgrades. In general, every year, the design is closer to the TLX sedan.

However, as for the engine, nothing will change under the hood. As before, the MDX model will continue to offer a lot of power with a potent 3.5-liter V-6 engine as standard or 3.0-liter V6 turbocharged under the Type S variant.

Is Acura Redesigning the MDX?

The fourth-generation Acura MDX will surely arrive more stylish than before. As far as we know, the famous manufacturer will make some changes to the front and rear fascia, making the MDX more sporty. Obviously, Acura is attacking the mid-size segment, and we can expect the unexpected. First of all, the upcoming model compared to the outgoing generation will be nearly two inches large, with a 2.8-inch longer wheelbase.

The body design comes with sharp lines, and it was inspired by the wind-shaped rocks of Arizona’s Antelope Canyon. Moreover, we expect to see the same Acura’s Diamond Pentagon grille and the same attractive 4-element LED headlights. The high-performance Type S variant should also be offered, and unlike the regular model, it will look more sporty. According to many web pages, this model will get a double-wishbone front suspension, larger 21-in wheels, and front Brembo brakes.

Techs Upgrades

Inside, the 2023 Acura MDX should look reportedly more premium and sporty. If you didn’t know, this SUV was revamped last year, and it received many upgrades. However, for 2023, we don’t expect any significant changes at all. Anyway, the manufacturer will introduce more standard features, and it will add more high-tech features. First of all, we expect the new MDX to offer no less comfortable seats than before, with enough legroom behind. As you may probably know, this SUV provides a third-row of seats.

As for technology, the MDX will get some novelties inside. It is still available as standard with a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, Wi-Fi hotspot, and wireless smartphone charging pad as standard. However, this time, Acura will add more driver-assistance technologies.

Under the Hood

Like before, the new 2023 Acura MDX will use the same engines. This model is available with a standard 3.5-liter V-6 engine, developing 290-horsepower. Unlike the outgoing model, the new one is paired to a 10-speed automatic transmission rather than a nine-speed. Front-wheel drive is still the standard configuration, while all-wheel drive is offered as an option.

The Type S variant is a much better option if you need more output. This one has a 3.0-liter V6 turbocharged engine that makes 355 horsepower. It also comes with an all-wheel drive as standard, which reduces the low fuel economy rating. The current MDX is rated 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway.

2023 Acura MDX Release Date, Price

The upcoming 2023 Acura MDX will be available with few trim levels. The base model will start at $48,000, while the range-topping Type S variant should be around $65,000.

Overall, the price remains intact, which makes sense, given the small number of refreshments. On the other hand, we expect all MDX crossover models to hit dealerships next summer.
