If you didn’t know, the Buick Encore receives its last redesign in 2017, wearing one of the most attractive stylings in the class. However, for 2022, the manufacturer makes some changes regarding its exterior and interior.
Since the first generation of the SUV, the Encore has been evolved into a handsome subcompact crossover SUV. Besides attractive design language, the latest five-seater offers the fresh interior. Generally, the Encore feels and looks more upscale than most of its competitors. On the other hand, it comes with the same engine unchanged for the 2022 model year.
2022 Buick Encore Facelift
Entering its 10th model year on sale, the new 2022 Buick Encore will arrive without major redesign. From the latest photos, we can clearly see that the new Encore is a carryover model.
Overall, the design is still eye-catchy, and this subcompact crossover looks handsome. It`s recognized mostly thanks to a unique grille with vertical slats that sits in between round LED headlights and a ridged hood. For 2022, the manufacturer made some small changes adding a more rugged body cladding, a short rear overhang, and chrome trim surroundings. At the back, the newest Encore is mostly unchanged. It comes with the same vertically oriented LED taillights that hug the rear fenders.
Cabin Appearance and Features
On the inside, the 2022 Buick Encore has the freshest design. Compared to most of its competitors, this crossover feels and looks more upscale. Generally, the cabin will come without significant changes, and it will feature the same overall look as the current Encore. The dashboard dominates inside with a gentle upward curve and the new center console that split into two sections, separating HVAC and infotainment system.
The new subcompact crossover SUV also comes standard with an 8-inch touchscreen, and it includes Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a six-speaker audio system, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi hot spot, voice recognition, Bluetooth, and two USB ports. An optional list of features is longer than ever, and you can get additionally remote start, push-button start, and remote keyless entry.
2022 Buick Encore Powertrain Specs
Like the previous generation, the new 2022 Buick Encore will deploy the same engine. This subcompact crossover SUV uses a turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 138 horsepower. This engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, which helps route power to the front wheels.
However, like in most competitors, an all-wheel-drive system is available as well, but only as optional. A start-stop system will ensure some fuel savings, but importantly, you can turn it off. Unfortunately, all of Encore`s competitors offer at least two engine options, and that’s the only department where this model lacks.
Release Date, Price
Buick hasn’t yet unveiled when it will officially release the 2022 Encore. According to many gossips, we should expect the new subcompact SUV to be introduced in the summertime. However, sales will most likely start at the end of the year. Pricing for the upcoming 2022 Buick Encore also remains unclear.
Although, without any significant changes, pricing should remain close to the current model’s range of $24,195 to $25,595. The pricing includes a destination charge. This subcompact crossover will once again compete with the models in the same segment, such as Kia Seltos, Mazda CX-30, and Honda HR-V.
