The forthcoming 2021 Lexus RX 450h is arriving with facelifted styling. According to the recently revealed photos, the new model will come with updated front grille, headlights, and taillights.

Also, from the information that we got, Lexus RX 450h will feature laser welding and improved chassis rigidity for better handling. Of course, some changes are happening inside too and the manufacturer added standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on all models. Like the current model, the new one will be offered with two variants RX 450h and RX 450hL.

The new 2021 Lexus RX 450h is wearing an updated styling. This time Lexus added a new front grille, LED headlights, and LED taillights. Thanks to all those updates, this SUV is looking more cleaner. The manufacturer on the front used a LED-powered “BladeScan Type AHS” technology that delivers better illumination on the road ahead without blinding oncoming traffic. The Lexus RX 450h is heavier than the RX 350 because it uses a massive battery under the floor. Thanks to that, this SUV provides excellent handling and many ride quality improvements.

Looking at this model from the side, the 18-inch wheels are added as the standard equipment. Besides, Lexus added two new colors, including Moonbeam Beige Metallic and Nori Green Pearl.

Cabin Includes Upgraded 12.3-Inch Screen

The significant changes are happening inside the Lexus RX 450h. Basically, this SUV has been involved over the years and it possesses one of the techy cabins.

Comfort is excellent, and both 3-row RX 350L and RX 450hL offers captain’s chairs for the second row. Thanks to that, the seating flexibility is increased. First impressions stepping inside are positive thanks primarily to an upgraded 12.3-inch screen that is positioned 5.4 inches closer to the driver.

Safety

The forthcoming Lexus RX 450h includes a new Safety System+ 2.0 and the latest suite of safety tech. This includes adaptive cruise control, pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane-keeping assist, intelligent high beams, lane departure alert, road sign assist, and pre-collision protection.

2021 Lexus RX 450h Powertrain Specs

As we mentioned, this model comes in two variants RX 450h and RX 450hL. The hybrid system consists of a 3.5-liter V6 and battery-electric powertrain powering both models. From what we heard, the 3.5-liter V6 will be able to deliver 259 horsepower, while the electric motor adds around 48 horses more.

The RX 450h and the RX 450hL have a total system output of 308 horsepower. Moreover, both models come standard with an all-wheel-drive system. The EPA-estimated driving range of the hybrid model is rated 516 miles, which is a boost over the regular one that delivers 422 with standard AWD. Interestingly, the towing capacity of all models is 3,500 pounds. Moreover, both models are available with a continuously variable transmission or CVT.

Release Date and Price

The debut of 2021 Lexus RX 450h will happen this year according to the manufacturer. The next-gen model will look refreshed and it will bring more standard equipment. The price of the Hybrid Lexus RX 450h model starts just under $48,000, while the bigger version RX 450hL hybrid cost nearly $51,500.
