2021 BMW X6 Release Date, Price, and M-Package Specs

The waiting is over, the newly redesigned 2021 BMW X6 is confirmed and we can expect numerous improvements. This popular luxury SUV will be debut next year and it will receive further updates. As you may know, the X6 model first time introduced in late 2008 and it took much attention at that time. Furthermore, the upcoming X6 entered its fourth generation, and with this redesign, we expect it to be a carryover.

As a carryover model, the upcoming 2021 BMW X6 will be also offered with the same shape and design as the current one. However, there will be some small upgrades and the new model will look more attractive than before.

2021 BMW X6 Design Changes

As we mentioned, the approaching 2021 BMW X6 will continue to be offered with the same shape. Basically, this model is a carryover and there will be only small modifications here and there.

Most importantly, the front will be more aggressive and BMW’s kidney grille now looks visually better. The sporty design is present and the new model comes with a swoopy roofline, long hood, short front, and rear overhangs. Generally, there is no need for some hard modifications because this model looks unique and thanks to that, it’s recognized easy.

M-Package

M package will be also available and the model that is wearing it will get more aggressive styling. This package will include kidney grille painted in black, flared wheel arches, and rear diffuser with quad exhaust tips. 21-inch wheels come standard on the M package.

2021 BMW X6 Interior and Safety

Inside, the upcoming 2021 BMW X6 will boast a clean and luxurious design. This model will host more techs and upscale materials. Some updates inside will happen and the manufacturer will arrange more cleaver its cabin. Thanks to that, this two-row seater will provide more comfort. It features a dash-top infotainment screen, a tidy center stack, various upscale trim options, an electronic shifter, plenty of premium upholstery options, and a sporty three-spoke steering wheel. So, as you can see, many of the features are the same.

Besides that, there will be plenty of advanced safety gear. As a part of the standard package, this model including automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitors, parking sensors, lane-departure warnings, high-beam assist, and adaptive LED headlights. Optionally one can get adaptive cruise control, active lane control, lane-change assist, and a surround-view camera.

2021 BMW X6 Powertrain Options

We expect no changes at all under the hood of the new 2021 BMW X6. There will be three engine options. The base sDrive40i will deploy the same 3.0-liter six-cylinder that produces 335 horsepower and 330 pound-feet of torque.

Moving to the M50i model, buyers will get a more potent 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 that will deliver 523 hp. The range-topping X6 M is the most equipped and it will use a 4.4-liter V8 engine that generates 600 hp and 617 hp, respectively. Furthermore, the existing eight-speed automatic transmissions will power all models above.

Release Date and Cost

There is no official release date set for the upcoming 2021 BMW X6. However, from some expert’s speculations, the new model can be expected next summer. This arrival is based on previous years’ schedules.

Price is not yet available, but we can expect it to be in the same range as before. The current model sDrive40i cost $65,295, while xDrive40i starts at $67,595. However, the higher model M50i  begins at $86,645. Load a BMW X6 with M package will up price to $115,000.

Just for comparison, the latest Audi’s Q8 starts at $65,500, Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe costs a minimum of $72,345, while the Porsche Cayenne is the expensive one with a price of $75,000. Maserati Levante is just below with a price tag of $74,485.
