The Land Cruiser was waiting too long for a redesign, and it will finally get it. If you didn’t know, the outgoing 200 series has been on sale since the 2008, and it has become instant hit worldwide.
The upcoming SUV will ride on a body-on-frame and a new GA-F platform compared to the previous generation. Toyota recently reveals that the Land Cruiser reduces total vehicle weight by 440 pounds thanks to a new platform. To reduce emissions, the manufacturer ditches its traditional V-8 powertrain for a pair of twin-turbocharged V-6 engines.

In terms of design, the forthcoming 2023 Toyota Land Cruiser will look different than the current generation. First of all, this SUV remains body-on-frame but now riding on a new GA-F platform. According to Toyota, the platform is stiffer, and they managed to reduce total vehicle weight by 440 pounds, with a lower center of gravity.

The latest Land Cruiser also comes with improved on-road performance thanks to the Electronic Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (E-KDSS) adaptive-damping system.
Cabin Upgrades
Inside, the cabin of the new 2023 Toyota Land Cruiser looks much more modern and premium. The cabin benefits from a significant upgrade allowing comfort for seven passengers in three rows. Basically, like before, you can flip and fold the way-back seats up towards the windows for more cargo capacity.
Moreover, stepping in, you’ll first notice a sizeable tablet-style infotainment screen and a cleaner dashboard layout. Toyota will introduce fingerprint identity verification technology and the new 9-inch infotainment system. There is also an option to upgrade cabin with a larger 12.3-inch display. Both units are compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 360-degree camera, wireless charging, and a head-up display.
Engine Specs
To reduce emissions, Toyota will replace its traditional V-8 with a pair of new twin-turbocharged V-6 engines. The new SUV will come with a 3.5-liter gasoline V-6 that makes 409 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque from the latest information.
Alongside this engine, Toyota will introduce a new 3.3-liter turbodiesel, delivering 304 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. Both machines are connected to a new 10-speed automatic transmission as the only option.
