2023 Polestar 3 Premium All-Electric SUV Review

The upcoming 2023 Polestar 3 is a premium SUV that will be available to purchase in October this year. Interestingly, Polestar has only released a few details about its first electric model, and they reveal it can cover 373 miles of range with only one charge. Like most modern electric cars, the forthcoming Polestar 3 will boast single and dual-motor configurations.

We also hear that it’ll be equipped with an array of active safety features, and it will include Volvo’s lidar technology. The new SUV will start at $75,000, which is in line with competitors in the same class such as the Jaguar I-Pace $71k, and BMW iX $84k.

2023 Polestar 3 Design

The first images of the 2023 Polestar 3 are available, and the forthcoming SUV looks attractive thanks to its crisp, swooping shape. Interestingly, it seems that the new Polestar 3 borrowed some design cues from the Precept luxury saloon concept.

The many similarities can be seen mostly on the front-end design. Both models use almost identical T-shaped headlights, and the thin blanked-off grille with sloping bonnet. The high-end luxury EV also features a very futuristic back, with unique LED taillights that stretch across the tailgate.

Futuristic Interior

Polestar, which is Volvo’s electric subbrand, says that the cabin of the model 3 is very futuristic. They also reveal that buyers can expect a very spacious cabin that has enough room for up to five passengers. In general, we expect the new Polestar 3 to follow a similar aesthetic as the Polestar 2’s cabin.

So, expect to see a big 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster as well as a centrally located 11.2-inch one. The infotainment is running on the latest Google’s Android Automotive OS system. Other things that we’re expecting as standard includes a few USB ports, satellite radio, and Harman/Kardon sound system.

2023 Polestar 3 Motor Setup, Range, Battery Capacity

From what we know, the new 2023 Polestar 3 will share its SPA2 platform with the next-generation Volvo XC90. However, unlike the XC90 model, the Polestar 3 will be a performance SUV that will be powered with either single or dual-electric motor set-up.

Polestar claims the 3 will offer an all-electric range of 373 miles per charge. This is probably the range for the model that came with two electric motors. It will also support fast DC charging.

How Much Does a Polestar 3 Cost?

While most of the technical limitations are unknown, we know that the new SUV will ride on the same SPA2 as the forthcoming XC90. It will also be all-electric, and buyers can choose a model with a single or dual motor setup. According to Volvo, alongside Polestar 3 model, we can expect a range of fully electric models as well.

The new SUV will reportedly start at $75,000, which is probably the price for the model with a single motor setup. So, expect dual motor models to cost significantly more. As we said, in the line of Polestar 3 pricing there are competitors such as the Jaguar I-Pace $71k and BMW iX $84k.
