2023 Mazda CX-50

The upcoming 2023 Mazda CX-50 is a new mid-size SUV model that is riding on the same platform as the Mazda3 and CX-30. According to the latest news, this model is about to debut on November 15. However, production of the CX-50 will reportedly start in January 2022.

Alongside this model, Mazda is also going to unveil several refreshed SUV models. Recently, the company released a teaser video showing a vague glimpse of the upcoming CX-50 model driving through a forest. On top of that, they also confirm some details about this new model. Here’s everything that we know about the upcoming SUV.

2023 Mazda CX-50 First Look

The new 2023 Mazda CX-50 has been teased, and we must admit it looks from the side similar to CX-5 model. In general, thanks to Mazda’s soul of motion KODO design language, all models are recognized on the road. First of all, we expect the CX-50 to features the same attractive grille and the same headlights as we saw on the smaller CX-30.

Mazda has recently revealed the CX-50 is based on the same platform used in the CX-30 and Mazda3 sedan. So, we are expecting all to share the same styling cues as well.

Cabin Features

Unlike the CX-5 model, the 2023 Mazda CX-50 will definitively feature a more modern cabin. According to many reports, the CX-50 is expected to have slightly more cabin and cargo space as well. There will be two rows of seats and enough room for five passengers onboard. As standard, this SUV will probably include a 10.3-inch infotainment display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.

The CX-50 should also come with an impressive lineup of standard and available active safety features. We expect it to offer at least popular items like blind-spot monitoring, surround-view parking camera, rain-sensing wipers, and rear cross-traffic alert.

2023 Mazda CX-50 Engine Specs

As far as we know, the forthcoming 2023 Mazda CX-50 will use some of the existing engines. Like the CX-5 model, the CX-50 is riding on the same Mazda platform, and it will likely use the same Skyactiv 2.5-liter and turbo 2.5-liter inline-four engines.

The turbo model it’s good for 250 horsepower and 320 pound-feet (434 Newton-meters) of torque when the engine feeds on 93-octane fuel. Both units will utilize FWD underpinnings with AWD as optional. We also expect to see the same transmission of six-speed automatic as we saw on its sibling CX-5. Considering all above, the forthcoming model will be able to deliver great performance and even better economics.

Release Date, Price

The new 2023 Mazda CX-50 has been teased yesterday, and it will be reportedly unveiled on November 15. In addition, expect sales to start in January of 2022. Generally speaking, we are not expecting a significant price bump over the CX-5.

The price of the smaller CX-30 is revealed and is only $1,260 more than the CX-3. Interestingly, Mazda is also announced that the CX-5 will remain in the lineup, and it will be refreshed in 2022.
