The new 2023 Kia Telluride is on the way, and it will receive small but smart changes. Earlier this week, the prototype of the 2023 Telluride has been caught testing in South Korea, and soon after the first renderings came up. From what we saw, the forthcoming model will be refreshed, and it will gain notable changes at the back and up front.
We also got information that it would come with more standard equipment than before, offering an excellent and spacious interior. As before, the new SUV will be propelled with a 3.8-liter V6 producing 291 horsepower. Despite the strong engine, the maximum towing capacity of this SUV is 5,000 pounds.
2023 Kia Telluride Facelift
First of all, we don’t expect the new 2023 Kia Telluride to bring significant visual revisions. Instead, we expect Kia to tweak the front fascia, and it will add new graphics of the headlights, as well as make some modification on the radiator grille giving it more pronounced shapes.
We also heard that LED lights integrated into the bumper might disappear with this facelift. At the back, the new model will also receive some little modifications to the taillights and rear bumper as well. Depending on the trim level, the design of this SUV will vary.
More Modern Interior
Considering that the Telluride is still a relatively fresh model, we presume some small refreshments inside to keep up with its rivals. However, as the previous model, the new one will keep the same seating layout of three rows. Thanks to that, Kia Telluride can fit seven passengers inside.
The new model will dominate the inside with the same dashboard. We are not expecting any big changes inside, considering the Telluride already has one of the biggest 10.25-inch touchscreens for the infotainment. It also features standard equipment like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability, 10-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, a 110-volt power inverter, and wireless smartphone charging.
2023 Kia Telluride Engine Specs
Beneath the hood, the 2023 Kia Telluride is powered by the same engine as its predecessor. The current model uses a 3.8-liter V6 that is able to produce healthy 291 horsepower. Interestingly, this engine comes without turbo or superchargers, but it still produces more than enough output.
As far as we know, the manufacturer will pair this engine with an 8-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive as standard. Of course, you can get an all-wheel drive as an optional. On a more positive note, with a full-tank capacity of 18.8 gallons, the Telluride can travel about 400 miles. It also has a maximum towing capacity of 5,000 pounds, which is enough for many goodies.
Price, Release Date
The new 3-row midsize SUV/crossover 2023 Kia Telluride LX model starts at $32,790, plus a destination charge. If you add all-wheel drive, you need to pay another $2,000. An SX Prestige package is the range-topping model that includes all-wheel drive and it pushes the price to $46,890. In the same class with Telluride there are some seriously competitors.
The Hyundai Palisade, Volkswagen Atlas, Subaru Ascent, and Ford Explorer are the closest ones, and they all in the same ballpark. This popular SUV will go on sale next year, probably before summer.
