The first renderings of the 2023 Dodge Journey are available, and we surely can expect plenty of upgrades. This model is one of the selling ones in Dodge’s line of SUVs. It features a very compact styling and an even better cabin. Reportedly, this model had been sold in over 900,000 copies over its lifetime.
However, it will return more muscular using the new platform. It uses the Giorgio architecture that already underpins the famous Alfa Romeo Stelvio. Besides, some changes might happen under the hood, and many believe that Journey will borrow the engine from the bigger sibling Dodge Durango.
2023 Dodge Journey Exterior Upgrades
The rumors predict that the latest 2023 Dodge Journey will use the rear-wheel-drive Giorgio architecture that already underpins the Alfa Romeo Stelvio. If this comes true, the Journey should feature significantly improved driving dynamics and a sportier shape.
Renderings are available, and the upcoming model takes the basic shape of the Stelvio and some of the classic Dodge styling elements. The overall design is more muscle, and we noticed the same Charger-inspired headlights as the Durango-inspired taillights. On top of that, the black satin roof and Hellcat wheels make this SUV more sporty.
More Comfortable Cabin
As we’ve stated before, the 2023 Dodge Journey is the SUV that offers an extraordinarily comfortable cabin that can fit seven passengers. It looks modern inside and is more charming than the Durango sibling, for sure. Overall, space is generous up front, about average in the second row, and cramped on the back. Also, the seats are very comfortable and covered in durable yet easy to clean fabric.
Apart from comfort, the Journey is also filled with the latest techs. This compact SUV adopts the new 8.4-inch touch screen Uconnect infotainment system with physical buttons for the sound and climate system. However, more equipment can be found choosing the Crossroad trim. This model features a remote start system, heated front seats, heated steering wheel, navigation, and rear entertainment system with a 9-inch screen.
2023 Dodge Journey Powertrain Specs
The new 2023 Dodge Journey will most likely use the same engine as the outgoing one. That means it will be available with the same 2.4-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine that can produce 173 horses and 166 lb-ft of torque. Unfortunately, the optional and more potent 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 that delivered 283 horsepower is no longer available.
However, besides the standard model, there is also a rumor that the manufacturer might introduce the SRT. If rumors become true, expect the same engine from the Dodge Durango SRT to powers the new Journey. This engine under the Durango produces 475 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque.
Release Date, Price
The 2023 Dodge Journey renderings are available, and it features more sporty styling. Many believe that this model will arrive sometime next year, using some of the new engine options.
The current model is filled with the latest technology, and we should expect a ton of upgrades on the new one. Moreover, considering that, expect a slight price increase. From the latest rumors, the base model could cost $30,000, which is an additional $2000 compared to previous generation. However, if the SRT variant happens, it will most likely cost over $50,000.
