The new spy shots of the 2023 Chevrolet Trax are available, and from them, the upcoming crossover coupe looks refreshed. Unlike its predecessor, the new model comes with a front end that shows off a more modern language, similar to the one we saw on the new generation TrailBlazer.
So, the new Trax seems to get the same genes as the Trailblazer including the same LED headlights, arranged vertically lights at the ends of the bumper, and flanking restyled grille. As for the engine, the Trax will come only with one change. Read below to find out more information about this compact crossover.
Will the Chevy Trax Be Redesigned?
According to new spy photos, the forthcoming 2023 Chevrolet Trax looks refreshed. Unfortunately, the spied model is heavily camouflaged, which doesn’t allow us to see all the changes. As we mentioned, the crossover wears the same front end as the new generation TrailBlazer.
Its design is attractive and better than before, thanks to the new LED headlights and the vertically lights at the ends of the bumper. The grille is also restyled, and it looks quite larger than before.
Interior Upgrades
The comfort of the 2023 Chevrolet Trax is on the high level. Passenger space up front is excellent. According to Chevy, you can count on rear legroom of 35.7 inches, which is less than we saw on the Honda HR-V’s 39.3 inches. Behind the rear seats, the luggage area is 18.7 cubic feet, and it can be expanded to 48.4 cubic feet when those seats are folded.
On the technology side, the standard model has a 7-inch infotainment touchscreen and the same audio setup as its predecessor. The LS is upper trim, and it comes with cloth/simulated leather upholstery, while full simulated leather upholstery is optional. Likewise, we expect more driver assist features and probably better crash rating.
2023 Chevrolet Trax Engine Specs
Under the hood, the 2023 Chevrolet Trax will run into a new generation with only one change. As far as we know, the forthcoming model will continue to offer the same 1.4-liter four-cylinder but now boosted to produce up to 155 horsepower, which is a significant upgrade. In case you didn’t know, the current model produces 138-hp.
Otherwise, the same remains the same, including a standard six-speed automatic transmission and choice of front or all-wheel drive. There’s no available information at the time, while the boosted engine consumes more fuel. The current front-wheel-drive Trax earned EPA ratings of 24 mpg city and 32 mpg highway. However, if you go for a model with an all-wheel drive, the numbers drop to 23 mpg city and 30 mpg highway.
2023 Chevrolet Trax Price, Release Date
The price of the upcoming 2023 Chevrolet Trax will likely rise a bit. The Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price of the current front-drive Chevy Trax in LS trim is $21,400. All-wheel drive costs extra $620.
In the same ballpark with the Trax are competitors like the Hyundai Kona, Honda HR-V, Mazda CX-30, Toyota C-HR, and Subaru Crosstrek. We expect the new crossover to appear on the market later this year.
