Besides, we can expect the new SUV to receive some mid-cycle upgrades, regarding the exterior and interior. The all-electric variant is also rumored, and it could be called iX1.

This subcompact SUV is modern, and it can easily rival more luxurious rivals from Audi and Mercedes-Benz. With two rows of seats, the BMW X1 offers enough room for five passengers, and it has one of the biggest cargo holds in its class.
On top of that, it includes the iDrive infotainment system that uses an 8.8-inch touchscreen. Also, as standard, the BMW X1 comes with Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM, and a 7-speaker audio system. Safety is excellent, and the upcoming SUV has forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, front and rear parking sensors, lane-departure warning, automatic high beams, and adaptive cruise control.
2023 BMW X1 Engine Specs
The sole engine will power the new 2023 BMW X1. As far as we know, the manufacture will continue to offer a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. This engine is excellent, and it produces 228 horsepower with 258 lb.-ft of torque.
Thanks to that, the BMW X1 has a punchy acceleration and good fuel economy, even when it is equipped with an all-wheel drive. Besides this engine, we expect an EV variant model that will reportedly ride on the new FAAR platform. The platform will be able to hold 38-kWh and 74-kWh batteries with a range of up to 250 miles. Rumors say the base model will produce 180 hp, while the more potent dual-motor could deliver 250 hp.
2023 BMW X1 Price, Release Date
The new 2023 BMW X1 has a starting price of $35,400 for the sDrive28i model. However, going for the all-wheel-drive xDrive28i model, the price will increase by $2000 more or a total of $37,400. The price of the electric variant is not yet available, but we presume that it will be around $45,000 or so.
Overall, in the same pricing range, the X1 is very close to the opponents like the Audi Q3, and the Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class. We expect the new refreshed SUV to appear sometime later this year, likely in the summer.
