One of the famous British SUVs, the 2022 Range Rover Evoque, will arrive luxurious than ever. Various media reported that the test mule of the new model was spotted on the open roads in England. According to the first spy shots, the upcoming SUV will introduce many improvements. Perhaps the most exciting news is that the Range Rover Evoque will gain a much longer-wheelbase compared to the outgoing version.
It seems that the Evoque will keep the same modern shape, which is nicely connected through the sideline along the body. Moreover, it will also be offered with the same two engines as its predecessor. That means we should once again see a powerful 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine and a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 mild hybrid system.
2022 Range Rover Evoque Exterior Upgrades
Despite the heavy disguise, it’s easy to spot that the next 2022 Range Rover Evoque looks bigger. The extra length of the car’s wheelbase opens a more spacious cabin. Other than the increase in length, the new Range Rover Evoque looks like the outgoing model.
Generally, it shares almost all of the cues. Even with all the camouflage cladding, we noticed some modifications on the bumpers, slimmer headlights, and large front air intakes. Despite these small upgrades, the extended wheelbase Range Rover Evoque comes with the same steeply-sloped roofline as we saw on the regular version.
Interior Details
The most significant change over the regular Evoque is a more spacious cabin thanks to a longer wheelbase. The new extended-wheelbase SUV will have significantly more legroom on the back. However, like the outgoing model, the seating arrangements remain unchanged.
This SUV comes in the form of three rows of seats offering enough room for seven occupants. However, the Range Rover Evoque’s interior hasn’t been caught on camera yet, but it should be more modern than before. From what we heard, the new SUV will have a very plush cabin and bigger infotainment.
2022 Range Rover Evoque Engine Options
Depending on the chosen trim level, the engine of the 2022 Range Rover Evoque will vary. For example, trims like S, SE, or First Edition Evoque, will get a 2.0-liter engine that produces 246-horsepower. This mill is mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission, which is paired with an all-wheel-drive setup.
However, a much greener choice is the R-Dynamic model that uses a hybrid system. The system configuration includes a 48-volt mild-hybrid upgrade using the same turbocharged 2.0-liter and a starter-generator hybrid system. From some early testing, the standard engine can run to 60 mph in about seven seconds, while the hybrid goes to 60 mph in 6.3 seconds.
Release Date, Price
As per various media reports, the upcoming 2022 Range Rover Evoque will most likely arrive later in the year. The test mule was spied a few days ago, wearing heavy camouflage. Generally, this is clearly a carryover model that comes with a longer wheelbase. If you want to purchase this SUV, you must prepare little less than $50,000 for the entry-level model.
The R-Dynamic models are ranging from $47,595 to $56,795, while the First Edition starts at $57,845. Comparing to other models in the same category, pricing for the Evoque is higher than the Audi Q5, Alfa Romeo Stelvio, and Lexus NX.
