The second-generation 2022 Mazda CX-30 is on the way. If you didn’t know, this is one of the brand’s most selling model, after the CX-5. The CX-30 offers excellent comfort, and it also deploys potent engines. Unfortunately, for 2022 it will be just one more carryover model. So, don’t expect anything significant, because it will only get a minor upgrade. Many media reports reveal that it will receive some small visual tweaks, better comfort, and more tech features.
Like the previous model, the new crossover SUV will feature many standard equipment’s, including a big infotainment screen, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. The sales should start sometime this year, and we are hoping it will keep the same price as its predecessor.
2022 Mazda CX-30 Upgraded KODO Design
Unlike the all Mazda’s models, the 2022 CX-30 will gain an upgraded KODO styling. Admittedly, this SUV looks compact and is very attractive. However, some of the lines on the CX-30 are subtle sharper than we used to see on the crossovers. The preferred version is the best option that adds a gloss grille, while Premium trim offers LED headlights and taillight accents, along with roof rails. Like before, the regular model comes with the same matte grille and 16-inch aluminum-alloy wheels. By the way, Select trim replaces those wheels with much stylish 18-inch alloy wheels.
The CX-30 Turbo is available as well, and it includes 18-inch black aluminum-alloy wheels, bigger exhaust pipes, a gloss-black grille, and a “TURBO” badge on the liftgate.
Seductive Styling Inside
The 2022 Mazda CX-30 will for sure offers more premium cabin than before. It will receive more quality materials and the same cabin layout. The luggage area is still 20.2 cubic feet, and it can literarily expand to 45.2 cubic feet, folding seats down. In the same class, the Honda HR-V is offering a more spacious cabin.
Like the previous model, the new one will feature the same Mazda Connect, 8.8-inch infotainment screen, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity, Bluetooth phone/audio, HD radio, Wi-Fi, and an 8-speaker audio system. On the safety side, the CX-30 offers vast numbers of features. It comes with adaptive cruise control with stop/go, lane-departure warning/lane-keeping assistance, while blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is available standard on the Select level trim.
2022 Mazda CX-30 Engine Details
The 2022 Mazda CX-30 will also be a carryover model regarding its engines. It will be powered with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder generating 186 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque. Basically, it’s unlikely that Mazda will boost this engine, giving it more output, but who knows. Like the predecessor, we can also expect an optional 2.5-liter turbocharged engine that delivers 250 hp and 320 lb-ft of torque.
Moreover, we should also expect the same six-speed automatic transmission standardly, while the all-wheel-drive is still optional, or standard choosing the turbocharged engine.
Release Date and Cost
Generally, we are still don’t know much about the upcoming 2022 Mazda CX-30, but it will most likely to be a carryover from the latest media reports.
Many websites are suggesting that the release date will happen in the last quarter of this year. Although, the Mazda CX-30 price will probably be slightly higher. The current model starts at $23,000. The CX-30 model will try once again to beat rivals like Honda HR-V, Kia Seltos, and Subaru Crosstrek.
Such a nice and powerful full vehicle because I used this model after 2 years.
