The 2022 Hyundai Palisade is the latest midsize SUV that is highly rated in its segment. Basically, this new three rows model ranks very close to the second most selling model Kia Telluride. It features attractive styling with sharp lines and one of the most comfortable interiors on the market.
Since the Palisade’s last debut, there have been some small changes, including a more luxurious and expensive Calligraphy trim. However, we don’t expect significant changes for the 2022 model, but even the smallest ones are welcome. If you didn’t know, the Palisade SUV replaced the Santa Fe XL a few years ago, providing an even roomier, comfortable, and refined cabin.
2022 Hyundai Palisade Exterior Changes
The exterior of the forthcoming 2022 Hyundai Palisade is a masterpiece. This massive SUV features very small make-up compared to the outgoing model. First of all, and the most noticeable visual upgrade is chrome trim accents, which can be found around the grille, on the side, and back.
However, like the outgoing model, the new Palisade comes with the same massive grille and attractive LED headlights. Depending on a trim level, the appearance will vary. For example, choosing the SE and SEL trims, buyers will get 18-inch alloy wheels, while Limited and Calligraphy trims roll on more stylish 20-inch alloys. Calligraphy separates from the rest of the trims thanks to its own LED signature, fascia treatment, plus a wider central LED brake light.
Cabin Upgrades
The interior of the new 2022 Hyundai Palisade offers only quality materials and luxury aesthetics. Passenger space is abundant, and the new Palisade has a seating layout for seven occupants. Even behind the third row, the room is reasonably comfortable with a generous 18 cubic feet of storage. Of course, it can be expand to a maximum of 86.4 cubic feet with the second and third rows folded down.
Like its predecessor, the new one is offering numerous electronic gears. Standardly, the Palisade comes with an 8-inch infotainment display, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone integration, and adaptive cruise control with a stop/go function. Limited trim is one of the best, thanks to a 12-speaker/630-watt Harman Kardon surround-sound system and a vivid 12.3-inch digital driver information cluster.
On top of that, the Calligraphy trim is introduced for the first time last year, featuring some cosmetic additions. This trim also includes puddle lamps, and a steering wheel covered with perforated leather.
Engine Specs
The new 2022 Hyundai Palisade will be most likely powered with the same engine. Every version is propelled by a 3.8-liter V6 generating 291 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. Nevertheless, the machine is available with a smooth-shifting 8-speed automatic transmission routing power to the front-wheel-drive (FWD) as standard. All-wheel drive (AWD) is still on the options list.
Like before, the Palisade has four selectable driving modes, including Eco, Comfort, Sport, Smart. However, by choosing the versions with AWD, buyers will get additional Snow mode. As you can see, Palisade has plenty of muscle and can pull a maximum amount of 5,000 pounds.
How Much Does the 2022 Hyundai Palisade Cost?
The current front-drive SE starts at $33,665, and we think that price will remain the same. Limited trim is the most recommended trim that starts at $46,265, while Calligraphy tops the range at $48,890.
Compared with similar 3-row midsize SUV/crossovers, the newest Hyundai Palisade is in line with models such as Honda Pilot, Toyota Highlander, and Kia Telluride. From the latest Hyundai statement, the new Palisade should be available for purchase later this year.
