Exciting news, the worldwide famous Japanese automaker is working on the next-generation 2022 Honda Pilot. The new model will arrive next year, and it will introduce more improvements that we used to see.
Interestingly, we just got some of the spy shots confirming that. However, many believe that the upcoming three-row crossover SUV will be redesigned entirely, but it won’t happen regarding the 2022YM. Consider that this model is still in the early development phase, who knows what we can expect from the final version.
2022 Honda Pilot Exterior Upgrades
The next-generation 2022 Honda Pilot has been spied testing, and as we can see, it’s in the early phase of development. That means the final version will slightly differ from the prototype on the image.
First of all, the new spy shots reveals some changes that include redesigning on the front and back. Honda’s goal is to make Pilot more competitive, consider that the mid-size segment is crowded with great models. The new model looks more massive from what we can see, and it comes with a revised grille. Also, headlights are shaped differently, meaning that we could see some better styling.
Cabin Refreshments
Inside, we think that the upcoming 2022 Honda Pilot will remain to be spacious and modern. As mentioned, this model comes in the form of three rows, and it provides enough room for all passengers, except for ones on the rear bench.
Like on many three-rows models, the last row is ideal for small kids. However, according to some news, Honda will be bigger, so expect more comfort this time. By the way, Pilot always has a roomy cabin with more overall space than a Toyota Highlander.
Trims Equipment
From what we heard, the least expensive LX trim will introduce more features than before. This model will include push-button start, dual-zone climate control, Bluetooth phone/audio, USB port, and a new 8-inch color display.
However, the EX trim costs some additional money and it adds Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone integration, 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, tri-zone automatic climate control and more. EX-L is recommended trim featuring leather upholstery, moonroof, power-adjustable front-passenger seat, and the CabinTalk system. SE trim that replaces EX-L Nav/RES adds a hands-free tailgate and wireless charging.
One of the most equipment is the Touring model. This one will include a 590-watt premium audio system, blue ambient interior lighting, heated 2nd-row seats. The last trim is the most expensive Elite that adds a panoramic roof, ventilated front seats, and a heated steering wheel and much more.
2022 Honda Pilot Engine Performance
The 2022 Honda Pilot will continue to offers two engine options. The base model will use a 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 280 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque. This model also includes the FWD system as standard, and AWD can be chosen optionally.
Nothing is generally changed, and the Honda Pilot uses a standard 6-speed automatic gearbox or 9-speed automatic transmission on the higher trim.
Hybrid Specs
According to the latest report, the 2022 Honda Pilot Hybrid can be expected soon after its regular release. The hybrid version comes with a 3.5 liter V6 that will work in combination with an electric motor. With this unit, the forthcoming SUV can produce at least 300 HP and 300 lb-ft of torque. On top of that, the hybrid model provides fantastic fuel savings.
2022 Honda Pilot Price and Release Date
On the price side, the upcoming 2022 Honda Pilot will get a few changes here and there, that will slightly increase this SUV price. The current model starts at $ 33,000, while the new one might cost $ 2000 more. As for the hybrid variant, it will cost less than $45,000. Overall, expect the new model to arrive sometime next year as 2022YM.
