After so much speculation, the new 2021 Volkswagen Touareg will finally arrive in the following year, and it will introduce numerous changes. According to the latest news, the upcoming Touareg will be available in the US and Europe sometime in 2020.
The forthcoming model will bring a more attractive design, and it will adopt new technologies, better comfort, and performances. Volkswagen is currently working on an even hotter version Touareg R-Line. This model will get more sporty styling, and it will be also the first one that will be powered by a plug-in hybrid powertrain.

The design of the newest 2021 Volkswagen Touareg will be changed, and it will look more sporty. Like the Porsche Cayenne model, the new Touareg underpinnings the same MLB platform. Gasoline powertrain will be introduced with a V6 engine that makes 340 hp. The most powerful and top of the offer is a 4.0 V8 diesel that produces 421 hp. This engine, thanks to high torque, will accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.9-second.
Plug-in Hybrid
2021 Volkswagen Touareg R-line model is available as well. This version will be the first one that will use a plug-in hybrid powertrain. From some gossip, this model will be available with the same V6 PHEV drivetrain that is under the Audi Q8 model.
This engine consists of a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6, electric motor, and 14.1 kWh battery pack. Thanks to this combination, the plug-in hybrid delivers 443 hp and can also travel on EV mode 32 miles.
2021 Volkswagen Touareg Price and Release Date
Officials have not yet revealed information about the value of the new 2021 Volkswagen Touareg. However, from the experts’ view, the base model with a V6 engine should not pass the $50,000.
Volkswagen Touareg R-Line which comes with the newly introduced plug-in hybrid engine may start at $89,000. Both models will debut at some point during the following year.
