Like many models nowadays, the Toyota manufacturer will keep the same recognized look. So, the newest 2021 Toyota Highlander Hybrid will continue to be attractive and more angular. The front fascia of this version has a more pronounced design. It features refreshed grille and notably different LED headlights.
At the back, we can see a similarly athletic aesthetic with the wider LED taillights. Viewed from the side, this model host 18-inch wheels as standard, while 20-inch wheels come with Limited and Platinum grades.
Highlander Hybrid Interior and Safety
Inside, the upcoming 2021 Highlander Hybrid features an array of quality materials. Besides, the primary weapon of this SUV is its three-row of seats. Thanks to that, the new Highlander has become one of the most wanted family SUVs. This model offers plenty of room for seven occupants. Moreover, it features a partly digital instrument cluster, a large central 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto smartphone mirroring, and a digital rear-view mirror that provides an unobstructed view behind the car.
Safety is enhanced and the Highlander Hybrid safety kit includes automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assistance, and road sign recognition. 2021 Toyota Highlander Hybrid Under the Hood
The new generation 2021 Toyota Highlander Hybrid is a powerful SUV that will deploy a potent engine. Besides, this SUV also offers excellent nickel-metal hydride battery capacity. In fact, this model will come with a 2.5-litre petrol engine that will be supplemented by two electric motors. One permanent-magnet AC electric motor on each axle, giving the Highlander four-wheel drive when needed.
The benefit of this version is that it can be chosen with front-wheel drive (FWD) or all-wheel drive. We are still don’t know why this model has a lower output than the previous one. If you remember, the previous hybrid was able to deliver 306 horses, while the new one 243 hp. This is a significant drop that can be felt on the pedal. As for the fuel consumption, the hybrid provides in city/highway 36/35 mpg (FWD), 35/35 mpg (AWD), 35/34 mpg (AWD Limited & Platinum). Unlike the non-hybrid model that can tow up to 5,000 pounds with its standard V6, the Highlander Hybrid can tow a maximum of 3,500 pounds.
