The new model will get auto high beams, lane departure warning and cruise control as standard. Moreover, pre-collision assist, pedestrian detection and the auto emergency braking are available too. We expect additional systems to be confirmed. However, most of these features will be optional.

Brand-New Turbocharged Engine

New powertrain will be a 3.0-liter six-cylinder with a turbocharger. This unit is capable of producing 335 horsepower and 365 lb-ft of torque. It comes with a rear-wheel-drive system that is standard. A four-wheel-drive setup is optional like on the current model.

The customers can choose between a 6-speed manual and 8-speed automatic transmission. Some reports are saying that the Tacoma’s 3.5-liter V6 will be in the offer too. However, that is unlikely to happen. Besides new engine option, 4Runner will get better ride quality. The credit goes to a new independent rear suspension.
