Recently, Polestar automotive brand owned by Volvo revealed that its next model will be an all-electric high-performance SUV. According to the latest news, this model will be called 2021 Polestar 3 and it will borrow massive styling inspiration from the recently revealed Precept concept.
The officials also said that the same design language you can and should expect on all its future cars, starting with the Polestar 3. The new model will be all-electric and it might use the same mechanics as the Polestar 2 fastback.
2021 Polestar 3 Would Features the New System Called “SmartZone”
As we mentioned, the 2021 Polestar 3 will use the same design language as the Precept concept. Besides, the next Polestar model will look almost the same as the Polestar 2. However, because this model is an SUV, its shape and dimensions are different. Buyers can expect that this SUV version will look sportier that any car from this manufacturer. Actually, from the latest report, the Polestar 3 will use the same platform as the Volvo XC90 model.
The front fascia of the Polestar 3 looks attractive. We have some renderings and we can see the same “Thor’s Hammer” LED headlights that are present on the Polestar 2. Besides, this model also features the new system called “SmartZone” that comes with two radar sensors and a high-definition camera. Design of all Polestar cars looks fantastic and we cannot wait to see the final version of this all-electric SUV.
Luxurious Cabin
In terms of design inside, we don’t know that much about it. At this moment, there is only a couple of information available and everything else has kept secretly. Like the exterior, we expect a lot of cues from the Polestar 2. If you remember, this model provides a very luxurious cabin. It comes with a 15-inch portrait-oriented centre display and a 12.5-inch driver display.
The new infotainment system is made in collaboration with Google and besides we can expect advanced navigation, 10-speaker/220-watt audio system, and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone integration. Also, this fastback provides excellent comfort for all passengers, but we don’t know anything about the seating layout of the SUV version. Unfortunately, that is everything we know so far.
Driving Range, Performance
The upcoming 2021 Polestar 3 SUV will be all-electric. From many gossips, the Polestar 3 should use the same mechanic’s setup as the Polestar 2. However, we can expect much higher performance. This means that it will use two electric motors and it will provide no less than 310 miles of all-electric driving range.
Compared to the Tesla Model X that can go 325 miles on a single charge, Polestar 3 range is acceptable. Unfortunately, Polestar didn’t reveal any details regarding horsepower figures, battery packs, etc. We know for sure that this model will use an all-wheel-drive setup as standard.
2021 Polestar 3 Price and Release Date
The price of the newest 2021 Polestar 3 is not yet revealed by the company. As we already mentioned, the upcoming model will be based on the Polestar 2 and it will be classified as a coupe-SUV. So, we can expect its price to be higher than the Polestar 2 all-electric 5-door fastback that starts at $61,200.
However, we know that this all-electric high-performance model will debut later in 2021 and it will also reach American soil.
