The upcoming Nissan Rogue has been caught on the cameras during the road tests. First spy shots are clearly indicating the third-gen Rogue that will host plenty of upgrades. The 2021 Nissan X-Trail could get more or less the same treatment. As you probably know, X-Trail is basically Rogue model for Europe and Asia.
Surely, two models will depart from each other in numerous categories. Engine options are perhaps the largest departure. On the other hand, some powertrain options are exactly the same. And while both models will get hybrid versions, outputs are totally different. X-Trail Hybrid will get two different outputs and the price of the new crossover is slightly increased.
2021 Nissan X-Trail Offer Better Aerodynamics
First spy shots are showing us the U.S. Rogue version. We believe the upcoming 2021 Nissan X-Trail will get similar upgrades. The boxy shape will remain but we can’t spot creases under the heavy camouflage. Headlights are moved up higher and grille is finished in the inverted trapeze shape. It seems that Nissan is trying to deliver more features from its Xmotion Concept.
Grille is just the beginning. The rear end comes with the Xmotion’s taillights. New X-Trail will wear cleaner design with better aerodynamics. Some parts of the body are looking very subtle. Overall, it is a stylish crossover SUV that will look even better on the upper trim levels.
New 7-inch Display
From the inside, all-new 2021 Nissan X-Trail will also get numerous changes. For the start, the cabin will look more stylish and upscale. Everything from the inside looks modern and brand-new. That includes new upholstery and displays. The interior room will remain but X-Trail is a roomy model as before. Nissan will introduce more standard equipment and more safety aids.
The infotainment system is up to date and dashboard is once again split into two parts. First part hosts climate controls and the second part sports infotainment display. Old 5-inch display is gone and 2021 X-Trail now offers a standard 7-inch unit. Leather upholstery is standard on the upper trim levels.
2021 Nissan X-Trail Powertrain
We still don’t have info about the possible drivetrain changes. The engine lineup is market-dependent. Knowing that the 2021 Nissan X-Trail and Nissan Rogue will get different outputs. Rogue will ride on a 2.5-liter and 2.0-liter turbo-four engines. On the other hand, X-Trail will most likely arrive with three engine options.
Interestingly, both 2.0-liter and 2.5-liter four-cylinder will be included. However, X-Trail will get unique hybrid system. According to numerous reports, the new X-Trail Hybrid will generate around 150 HP and 170 HP. More importantly, the hybrid drivetrain will deliver 35 mpg. Even the 1.6-liter diesel will be available in some markets.
