As you probably know, the 2021 Nissan Armada will arrive with the diesel engine. It is the most significant upgrade in years. On top of that, this SUV offers a relatively fresh design and a very upscale interior. Knowing that the 2021 Nissan Armada is set for a smooth sail. The 2021 model will introduce a couple of really minor updates. However, some fans are hoping for significant upgrades.
The hope is alive thanks to the latest spy shots of the 2021 Nissan Patrol model. Patrol and Armada are basically the same two models for different markets. For that reason, many fans are hoping for Armada to get same changes as 2021 Patrol. Still, Armada is available in three trim levels and it offers three-row seating configuration.
2021 Nissan Armada Updates
The exterior of the all-new 2021 Nissan Armada will mostly remain. We expect only minor tweaks in terms of design. Diesel and gasoline models will be exactly the same. Armada SUV looks robust and sharp at the same time. Some parts are looking aggressive and sporty.
Overall, it is a very interesting and unique design from Nissan. The front grille will remain, along with the headlights. The front end could get small chrome work that will be barely visible. Rear-end hosts the same LED taillights as before.
The side profile looks subtle and Armada will continue to offer standard 18-inch wheels. Opting for the SL or Platinum trim levels will get you larger 20-inch wheels. Full-size SUV is dimensionally the same as its predecessor. That means Armada is still 208.9 inches long, 80.4 inches wide and 121.1 inches tall.
Armada’s sibling, the Nissan Patrol, has been caught on the cameras. New spy photos are showing us numerous exterior upgrades. Fans are hoping for the Armada SUV to get the same type of changes. However, Patrol is about to enter its next-generation. That is the main reason why we believe Armada will stay unchanged in 2021.
Cabin Comfort
The interior of the 2021 Nissan Armada will also remain. That means there won’t be changes in terms of interior layout or design. There will be room for eight once again, across the three rows of seats. The cabin looks upscale and modern.
Comfort is truly great, especially on the upper trim levels. Speaking of that, Platinum trim comes with an impressive list of standard features. On top of that, the Platinum model delivers slightly better legroom. The reason for that is its seven-seat configuration. The only updates we could see in 2021 Armada are the updates of the tech systems.
2021 Nissan Armada Powertrain and Towing Rate
The upcoming 2021 Nissan Armada will continue to ride on its 5.6-liter V8. It is the most powerful gasoline engine in Nissan’s lineup of SUVs. It delivers 390 horses and 395 lb-ft of torque. Armada will tow around 8,500 pounds. Aging V8 unit delivers only 16 mpg combined, unfortunately. A 5.6-liter comes with a 7-speed automatic gearbox and optional 4WD system.
Latest Nissan’s refreshment is its 5.0-liter V8 diesel. This powertrain is available on the US market. Whatsoever, V8 diesel is borrowed from the Nissan Titan XD truck. It delivers 320 horsepower and 555 lb-ft of torque. Thanks to its new diesel option, Armada SUV can tow up to 12,000 pounds.
