The all-new 2021 Land Rover Defender is a luxurious SUV that offers unique exterior design and the gorgeous interior. The defender will ride on a famous D7 aluminum platform, the same platform that underpins Range Rover model. The newest 2021 Land Rover Defender has been caught testing these days and is covered with camo.
Unfortunately, the 2021 Defender will carry over as the changes and upgrades are unlikely. It means the 2021 model will look exactly the same as its predecessor. Two gasoline engines are in the offer, along with a single diesel unit. Expect from Defender to arrive in numerous trim levels and different body styles. The most likely competitors are Jeep Wrangler and Toyota Land Cruiser.
2021 Land Rover Defender Redesign
The exterior of the 2021 Land Rover Defender will largely depart from its predecessor. The previous generation didn’t provide enough aggressiveness. The only way out is a total redesign, and the 2019 model will suffer the most of the changes. However, the 2021 Defender will look exactly like its predecessor.
Land Rover feels it is too early to deliver further updates and the company wants to see the results firstly. That means this SUV will ride on a D7 aluminum architecture and will offer a very unique and modern design. New suspension is available, along with the more aggressive design. On top of that, Defender should arrive in several body styles and configurations. You can count on the same dimensions and the traditional boxy shape as well.
2021 Land Rover Defender Interior
The connection between the Discovery and Defender models is great. That connection will continue in the future as well, and the interior is perhaps the finest example. The 2021 Land Rover Defender is also using plenty of cues and features from the Discovery model and the results are great.
Legroom is ample and better layout could provide even better results, no doubt about it. The comfort is another strong Defender’s point, however, leather seats are optional. The cabin is quiet, visibility is great and overall, the ride is very smooth.
Cargo Space
The new Land Rover Discovery model offers up to 80 cubic feet of cargo space, the similar figures are expected in the 2021 Land Rover Defender model.
2021 Land Rover Defender Powertrain
The 2021 Land Rover Defender comes with three engine choices. Two gasoline and one diesel drivetrain are in the offer. The base engine will be a 2.0-liter four-cylinder unit that generates 237 HP and 251 lb-ft of torque. The same engine is optional, but with six cylinders.
The optional unit provides 286 horses and 295 lb-ft of twists. The diesel engine will happen for sure, but we still don’t know the engine type and its specs. All drivetrains will get a 9-speed automatic gearbox and the optional all-wheel-drive setup.
2021 Land Rover Defender Price and Release Date
The starting price of the 2021 Land Rover Defender isn’t that affordable. The base model will cost $50,000 or even slightly more. Of course, count on numerous trims which will cost up to $70,000.
This SUV will hit the dealerships later in 2020. The biggest rivals are Toyota Land Cruiser and Jeep Wrangler.
