The famous South Korean automaker has been introduced its new flagship model called 2021 Kia Seltos at LA Auto Show. This fantastic SUV offers excellent design, and alongside that, it comes with two rows of seats and rooms for five occupants. Dimensionally, the upcoming 2021 Kia Seltos slots between Kia Soul and Sportage models and it offers 7.2 inches of ground clearance. Thanks to that, there are no terrains that can stop this SUV. Nissan Rogue Sport and Hyundai Creta are the models in the same segment, and we can expect a great battle between those models.
2021 Kia Seltos Provides Seductive Styling
The design of the 2021 Kia Seltos looks rugged and bolder if we compare it with the Sportage model. Also, dimensionally, the Seltos model is smaller than Telluride and Sportage SUVs. Thanks to that, its body is compact and it provides a unique design. Tiger nose grille on the front of this SUV dominates as the hood that offers gorgeous shape.
The Seltos bold character lines and muscular shoulders will separate this model with the SUVs in the same category as Honda HR-V and Jeep Renegade. We must mention that Seltos SUV is also lighter than the models above. Sides reveal great designed 16- inch wheels that come as standard, while upper trims will bring even bigger 17-inch wheels or optional 18-inch alloys to choose.
Comfortable Interior
Inside, Kia’s latest SUV provides an excellent arranged cabin with lots of quality materials. The cabin is comfortable, and Seltos is available with two rows of seats. Thanks to that, the new flagship model has rooms for five occupants. The front seats are supportive, while the second row, with 60:40-split-folding seats, delivers class-leading capacity.
On the back, rear occupants will find ample legroom and headroom. This SUV is very modern, and it offers excellent techs inside for invested money. Premium trim will provide even more and it will feature an 8-inch infotainment screen, head-up display to help keep eyes on the road, semi-aniline leather upholstery, new Sound Mood Lighting system and so on.
Safety
Safety equipment is great and this model includes ABS, ESC, traction control, Hill-Start Assist Control, and front- and rear parking sensors. Optional safety systems will provide even more techs as Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist, and Lane Keeping Assist.
Two Engine Options Available
The upcoming 2021 Kia Seltos is the all-new SUV that will be offered with two powertrain options. A 2.0-liter four-cylinder is standard powertrain, and it is able to make 146 hp and 132 lb-ft of torque. According to officials, this type of engine will be available with a new Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT).
The next engine is optional. It consists of a 1.6-liter turbocharged unit that produces 175 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. This powertrain will be available for the U.S. market and it comes with a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Also, we must add that officially, this engine can run from 0-60 mph in just 8 seconds.
The front-wheel-drive system is available as standard on both models, while AWD, as usual, is optional and is available on higher trims as standard.
2021 Kia Seltos Price and Release Date
The newly introduced 2021 Kia Seltos is an excellent designed SUV that will be very affordable. According to officials, this model will cost $21,000.
Furthermore, as we mentioned, Seltos will be available in four trim levels: LX, EX, S, and SX. The most equipped trim SX will start at 40,000. The new 2021 Kia Seltos will go on sale in the first half of 2021.
