New Cherokee SUV will introduce a couple of interesting innovations later next year. The upcoming 2021 Jeep Cherokee SUV model will finally get three rows of seats. This version is under production in Detroit. Attractive design will remain but the styling will suffer a lot of changes. On top of that, the interior will get a couple of useful upgrades.
Of course, third-row is the biggest innovation for the next year. Under the bonnet, engine lineup will largely remain. Even the trim levels are unchanged. Trackhawk variant is available once again. If you want a bigger version, Jeep is also offering its Grand Cherokee model.
2021 Jeep Cherokee Design Language is Unchanged
The all-new 2021 Jeep Cherokee will suffer a couple of exterior changes, but nothing significant. Latest rumors are predicting the new-gen Cherokee in 2021. It does make perfect sense as the current generation is riding for eight full years. On top of that, new third-row is a significant change that usually comes with the new-gen models.
However, dimensions will remain. Even the design language is unchanged. However, styling will look impressive. Aerodynamics are significantly improved. New headlights are also in the offer, along with the new 17-inch wheels. Some versions could get more ground clearance and upper trims will get more exclusive features. Overall, Jeep offers a unique model that will surely continue with its popularity.
Interior Layout will be Drastically Changed
In terms of technology, the 2021 Jeep Cherokee will introduce numerous tech updates. That includes infotainment system and latest phone integrations. However, there will be one significant change. New Cherokee will get a third-row, for the first time. It is a huge update for this SUV, no doubt about it. Because of that, the interior layout will be drastically changed.
Legroom will be different now, less generous, definitely. Third-row should turn Cherokee towards the families. However, fitting adults in the back will be a problem. Still, Cherokee has so much to offer and the interior is still practical and modern. Jeep could install new base cloth upholstery and new optional features. Of course, you can still opt for the two-row version.
2021 Jeep Cherokee Engine
Performance-wise, nothing will change this time. The forthcoming 2021 Jeep Cherokee will ride on its standard 3.6-liter V6 engine. It delivers 295 horses and 260 lb-ft of torque. A 5.7-liter is the first optional engine choice. This gasoline unit generates 360 HP and 390 lb-ft of torque. On top of that, a 3.0-liter diesel is in the offer and it cranks out 240 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of twist. Just to make things simpler, Cherokee is available in seven trim levels.
There are five engine choices so almost every trim offers different powertrain. High-performance SRT Cherokee arrives with a 6.4-liter V8. This powerful engine can produce up to 475 horsepower and torque is rated at 470 lb-ft. Finally, Trackhawk variant offers a 6.2-liter V8. Thanks to its turbocharger, Cherokee Trackhawk generates 707 HP and 645 lb-ft of torque.
Price and Release Date
Thanks to numerous updates, new 2021 Jeep Cherokee will cost more than its predecessor. Third-row will be optional, so this feature does not affect the price. However, 2021 Cherokee will now cost around $27,000.
Thanks to its numerous trim levels, the price can easily reach $50,000. On the other hand, the Grand Cherokee variant will cost $35,000. Jeep will release its new SUV in the last quarter of 2020.
