The all-new 2021 Honda Passport is confirmed for the second half of 2020. Passport SUV is basically “Baby Pilot” version. Two models are sharing plenty of similarities. That includes the same architecture and basically the same interior. However, the Passport offers better standard equipment.
Also, Passport sits higher than its Pilot sibling. A modern SUV with plenty of standard and optional packages. Cargo capacity is pretty decent and powerful V6 provides a great driving experience. There will be room for five passengers and towing capacity is satisfying.
2021 Passport Exterior Changes
The 2019 Passport was the new-generation model that arrived with a total redesign. Just like the 2020 model, the upcoming 2021 Honda Passport will offer mid-cycle refreshments. We don’t expect significant exterior upgrades at all. Knowing that Passport will keep its compact dimensions and its attractive appearance. The Passport is smaller than the Honda Pilot model.
However, two models are sharing the same platform. Passport offers impressive and standard 20-inch wheels. On top of that, this SUV sits higher than its Pilot sibling. Blacked-out exterior trim is also offered as standard. However, 2021 Passport offers an amazing color palette. Black Forest, Lunar Silver, Crystal Black, and Steel Sapphire are just some of the color options.
Trim Levels
All-new 2021 Honda Passport will arrive in four trim levels: Sport, EX-L, Touring, and Elite. All trim levels are using the same V6 engine. Base trim level (Sport) comes with 20-inch wheels and LED headlights as standard. On top of that, tri-zone climate control, keyless access and ignition are also standard. Sport trim includes numerous driver-assistance features, a 5-inch touchscreen, and a 7-speaker sound system.
The EX-L trim adds standard power liftgate and sunroof. Leather upholstery, power-adjustable front seats, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are standard. Passport EX-L also offers more safety equipment and a larger display.
Touring trim level delivers better comfort and more versatility. Heated rear seats, 10-speaker audio system, a hands-free liftgate, and parking sensors are all in toe offer. Moreover, heated steering wheel, wireless smartphone charger, and integrated navigation, as standard.
The range-topping Elite trim level The offers all the equipment available. Imagine Touring trim with auto-dimming side mirrors and, LED ambient lighting and a couple more premium features.
Proven V6 Engine
As we mentioned, the 2021 Honda Passport offers a 3.5-liter V6 on all trim levels. This engine produces 280 horsepower and 263 lb-ft of torque. It is a reliable V6 powertrain that comes with a 9-speed automatic gearbox. On top of that, front-wheel-drive comes as standard. Whatsoever, unlike Honda Pilot, Passport comes with more ground clearance and off-roading is possible.
A 10-speed automatic transmission is the biggest speculation for 2021. Still, there is no official confirmation. New Passport will tow slightly over 5000 pounds. An FWD Passport delivers 20 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway. Loading optional AWD system lowers those figures, but not significantly.
2021 Honda Passport Price and Release Date
The all-new 2021 Honda Passport will keep its existing price that starts at $32,000. The range-topping Elite trim level is priced at $45,000. “Baby Pilot” will go on sale in the second half of 2020. We expect this SUV to arrive in November.
