A new generation of the Escalade SUV will arrive later next year. The 2021 Cadillac Escalade will get significant changes and upgrades. The next-gen model has been spotted last December. Under heavy camouflage, Escalade showed us its new shape. This full-size SUV will continue to offer a room for eight passengers.
General Motors will provide updates on some other models such as GMC Yukon, Chevy Tahoe, and Suburban. Escalade rides on the T1XX body-on-frame platform. The new generation will get exclusive drivetrain option and upper trims will be more expensive. Also, the arriving SUV will get a huge touchscreen. The hybrid powertrain is also in the works.

The next-gen 2021 Cadillac Escalade will get a number of changes. For the start, this model will get a new exterior color. T1XX body-on-frame platform produced by General Motors will deploy this full-size SUV. Whatsoever, GM will provide plenty of updates to the next-gen Chevy Tahoe/Suburban and GMC Yukon/Yukon XL models. On the spy photos, most of the changes are not visible.
However, new Escalade shows its new shape. On the other hand, dimensions will remain. That means the full-size SUV is still 222.3 inches long. We believe the next-gen 2021 Escalade will get the new shape of the LED headlights. On top of that, taillights will suffer the same type of upgrade. New SUV looks sportier. 20-inch chrome wheels are still standard on the base model. A hands-free power liftgate is also in the offer.
2021 Cadillac Escalade Interior
There will be room for eight passengers, like on the current model. The full-size SUV offers plenty of room. A perfect family SUV that offers great comfort and is a perfect choice for longer trips. Even the base 2021 Cadillac Escalade model comes with a good level of comfort. Legroom in the third row is not that generous and taller persons are not recommended here. You can still opt for the second-row bucket seats. However, this option will reduce the number of seats to seven.
As for the interior equipment, GM will offer new standard features. That includes 12-way power-adjustable seats, tri-zone climate control, and 16-speaker Bose sound system. A new head-up display is available, along with the optional Nappa leather upholstery. The next-gen Escalade will offer better safety rating. However, the highlight of the new model will be a new touchscreen. Current 8-inch unit is gone and Cadillac will introduce a 16-inch infotainment touchscreen.
New BlackWing Twin-Turbo V8 Engine
The current Escalade SUV offers only one engine. It is a 6.2-liter V8 engine that produces 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. Whatsoever, it is the largest unit in the full-size SUV segment. Now, upper trims will get an exclusive engine option. The 2021 Cadillac Escalade will get a 4.2-liter twin-turbo V8.
However, exact engine specs are not available yet. On top of that, the hybrid drivetrain is in the works. A 10-speed automatic transmission will remain the only gearbox option. Latest reports are suggesting Cadillac’s Super Cruise function as well.
Next-Gen Cadillac Escalade Price and Release Date
The upcoming 2021 Cadillac Escalade will offer four trim levels once again. The standard model will cost around $75,000. It is a small price increase considering the number of changes and updates.
New Escalade is produced in GM’s plant in Texas. According to General Motors, the next-gen model will arrive in the second half of 2020.
