Audi is set to bring some updates to the upcoming Q2 model. Moreover, the new 2021 Audi Q2 is recently caught testing, and from the first spy shots, we can see that some mid-cycle refreshments are happening.
Like the most refreshed models nowadays, Audi Q2 is bringing some new features and design changes. The images reveal that the manufacturer will likely revise front and rear bumpers and update headlight design with LEDs as well. Q2 crossover is made on the MQB platform, which also underpins its big brother, the Q3 model.
2021 Audi Q2 Redesign
Though the light camouflage, the recently spied 2021 Audi Q2 crossover SUV reveals that design changes will be noticeable. However, most of the peoples will confuse this compact SUV with the hatchback because of its small dimensions. Q2 sits on the MQB platform, like many VW models.
At the front, some updates will happen. The headlights will be powered with LED lights, while the grille has a slightly bolder pattern than before. On the back, changes are barely visible. There will be some bumper tweaks, and taillights are sharper. Moreover, we can expect some design boost over the base model on the new SQ2.
More Standard Amenities
It’s not yet clear how extensive interior updates will be on 2021 Audi Q2. According to the latest news, Audi carmaker will add more quality materials, and some techs will be borrowed from the bigger Q3 model.
On top of that, there will be more standard amenities than on the first generation. As you probably know, Q2, thanks to its MQB platform, provides a decent cargo space. With two rows of seats, the Audi Q2 has enough rooms for five occupants. The new interior layout is premium. Moreover, the manufacturer focuses on making this model more competitive. Audi’s iconic Virtual Cockpit is present inside as the new dual-screen infotainment system.
Changes Under the Hood
The forthcoming 2021 Audi Q2 will be most likely equipped with the same engines as the first generation. There will be six engine choices that include three gasoline and three diesel engines. The output will vary from 114 to 188 horsepower. Moreover, the most potent option is still a 2.0-liter diesel that is available in two different outputs 150 and 200 horses. This engine will be paired with a more efficient dual-clutch transmission employing Quattro all-wheel. However, all other versions will use a 6-speed manual, and 7-speed dual-clutch S Tronic.
Finally, the 2021 Q2 e-Tron version will go on sale. This model will provide slightly better performances. Most importantly, e-Tron, according to the officials, will be able to ride 300 miles on a single charge.
