Forthcoming 2020 SsangYong Rexton will hit the dealerships in Asia later this year. The manufacturer is competing in almost every segment. However, SsangYong lacks the seven-seat SUVs in its lineup. Now, the all-new Rexton will finally bring something refreshing.
It is a company’s flagship SUV that comes with distinctive exterior design. It looks upscale and the interior is very modern. The range-topping model provides real luxury. Under the hood, Rexton comes with a 2.2-liter turbodiesel engine.
2020 Rexton Exterior Facelift
The upcoming SUV comes with a sleek design and it also looks distinctive. The 2020 SsangYong Rexton will be a large SUV with upscale features and modern styling. The front fascia is dominated by the upswept headlights and wide grille.
In the back, C-shaped taillights are looking very unique and clean. The 2020 Rexton rides on standard 18-inch wheels. 20-inch chrome rims are optional and are looking very premium. Korean automaker will offer power tailgate as standard this time.

LED interior lighting looks supreme and 50:50 split third-row is also in the offer.
Safety
New Rexton comes with a great safety rating. The manufacturer offers so many features and systems. All models will get an electronic brake system, brake assist, hill-descent control, and alarm immobilizer. Moreover, keyless entry, rear parking sensor, and reverse camera are standard too.
The range-topping model offers more airbags, six airbags to be precise. Lower trims are offering dual airbags for the front passengers. Optionally, the 2020 SsangYong Rexton offers blind spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control.
Turbo-Diesel Engine is Unchanged
The brand-new 2020 SsangYong Rexton will arrive with the same powertrain as the current model. It is a 2.2-liter turbodiesel unit so there will be no changes under the hood. This four-cylinder engine with e-VGT also powers SsangYong Musso pickup truck.
It produces 178 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. On top of that, a 7-speed automatic transmission is available. Rexton is also available with a standard rear-wheel-drive and optional four-wheel-drive systems.
2020 SsangYong Rexton Price and Release Date
The price of the all-new SUV starts at $33,000. Equipping new 2020 SsangYong Rexton with a 4×4 system and loading more options will cost you $43,500. New Rexton didn’t receive so many updates for 2020.
However, it still represents a quality option in its segment. The sales will firstly start in Asia, particularly in the Philippines, this November. The rest of the markets will get a new 2020 Rexton at the beginning of 2020.
