Newest Peugeot’s crossover has been spotted on cold weather during the road testing. The 2020 Peugeot 3008 is almost ready to hit the dealerships. This time, the crossover will get significant changes. New 3008 will arrive in five trim levels.
It will offer numerous drivetrain options and it will introduce a facelift. However, the hybrid system is perhaps the highlight of the 2020 model. The French automaker will provide numerous changes, even from the inside. The lineup of powertrains will remain unchanged.
Peugeot 3008 Exterior and Interior Facelift
After the spy shots firstly appeared, we thought this is a 2008 model. However, the prototype was too big for the Peugeot 2008 crossover. This model won’t grow in size so the only logical explanation is the 2020 Peugeot 3008. Under a heavy camouflage, some changes are more than visible. The crossover is getting a facelift and it will look better than ever before. For the start, the hood was easily recognizable.
However, the hood will now sport more pronounced creases. Side window lines and taillights are all-new. The front fascia is revised as well. Additional body cladding is visible and headlights are slightly different. At the back, new taillights are looking slimmer and more modern. Overall, new Peugeot 3008 will get a cleaner look and slightly sportier stance.
The interior will get some upgrades as well. The infotainment system will be faster and it will get new connectivity options. Instrument cluster will be redesigned and the distinctive dashboard will stay intact. However, Peugeot’s so-called “i-Cockpit” already looks premium and practical.
Powerful Hybrid System
Despite the latest changes, the hybrid drivetrain will be the highlight of the 2020 model. On the spy photos, charging port is easy to spot. It is a clear suggestion that we are dealing with the hybrid model. The 2020 Peugeot 3008 Hybrid will deploy a 1.6-liter turbo engine with two electric motors and a battery pack. The four-cylinder engine in combination with two motors will produce 295 horsepower.
Engine solely generates 197 hp. The hybrid powertrain will arrive with an all-wheel-drive setup. For that reason, electric motors will be rear-mounted. According to French automaker, 3008 Hybrid will arrive on the same day as the rest of the trim levels.
2020 Peugeot 3008 GT Line
New 3008 crossover will offer five different trim levels. The mid-range trim “GT Line” will be one of the most popular choices once again. The 2020 Peugeot 3008 GT Line is a popular trim for numerous reason. It looks more upscale than the base model and its price is affordable. This model offers plenty of premium features, like the range-topping trim levels. However, the GT Line costs significantly less. New Peugeot 3008 GT Line offers a panoramic glass roof, for the start.
A 19-inch diamond alloy wheels, premium HIFI sound system and smart electric tailgate are all available. On top of that, GT Line comes with keyless entry, 360-degree camera, and adaptive cruise control. This model will offer an exclusive Ultimate Red exterior paint and premium Mistral interior color scheme. Nappa leather upholstery will be offered too.
Price and Release Date
Facelifted 2020 Peugeot 3008 will hit the dealerships in the second half of 2019. This crossover is available in five trim levels and it offers a hybrid powertrain.
The price will be higher than before. According to many sources, this model will start at $30,000 or slightly higher. Popular GT Line trim is priced at around #35,000.
