The upcoming 2020 Nissan Armada is the model that offers a unique and attractive design. This full-size SUV is perfectly crafted for a large family. The current model that is available on the market has got some changes and the new one will follow it.
The cabin of this SUV is stylish, spacious and it comes with many techs. It is available with three rows of seats and it can accumulate up to eight passengers. Also, with this year model buyers will get a new engine along with the aging V8 powertrain.
2020 Nissan Armada Facelift
The exterior of the new 2020 Nissan Armada will be somehow changed. The front end will get some sharper lines and it looks much aggressive than the predecessor. However, the same attractive grille with some chrome materials remains and the new model features LED headlights as the taillights. The standard model will be equipped with the 18-inch wheels, while SL and Platinum trim will be offered with much bigger 20- inches wheels.
This SUV is definitively the largest in the Nissan`s line. Dimensionally the forthcoming 2020 Nissan Armada will measure 121.1 inches, while the length of this SUV is 208.9. However, the width is little changed and now is 80.4 inches.
The next-gen 2020 Nissan Armada shares many things with its sibling Infinity QX80 model. These two SUVs offers an identical design line and both are made on the same chassis. Also, the suspension, engine, and transmission are the same.
Interior Changes and Trim Offers
The 2020 Nissan Armada family SUV comes with a modern and stylish cabin. Also, there is plenty of space inside and as we already wrote at the beginning there are three-row of seats. There is enough space for up to eight passengers.
The higher trims like Platinum will offer more high materials along with updated techs. Also, this trim will have reduced seating capacity to seven passengers because it will offer a pair of captain’s chairs and a center console in the second row. The third row of the Platinum trim is ideal for children, not for adults.
The 2020 Nissan Armada model will be available in three trims: SV, SL, and Platinum. The base one SV will offer many techs inside and buyers will get an 8-inch infotainment system with updated navigation. Also, plenty of USB ports are available, along with Bluetooth connectivity. The mighty and powerful 13-speaker Bose AM/FM/CD/USB/Satellite audio system is part of the standard equipment. Furthermore, the power liftgate, auto-dimming rearview mirror, and remote keyless entry will be only available in the higher trims.
2020 Nissan Armada Engine
The upcoming 2020 Nissan Armada will be available with two engine variants under the hood. From some rumors, the manufacturer will add one new engine. However, the aging 5.6-liter V8 will also remain and will get some fuel economy improvements. This powerful engine is able to produce 390 horsepower and 394 pound-feet of torque. It is paired with a seven-speed automatic transmission.
With this engine, the Armada model runs from 0 to 60 mph in 5,9 sec, while the top speed is limited to the 133 mph. The EPA city/highway fuel economy of the V8 engine is little better if we compare it with the current one and it gives in the city/highways 15/19 mpg with the RWD model and 14/18 mpg for the 4WD system.
However, at this moment there is no official word what will bring the new engine and what output will provide as the fuel economy. Like the previous Armada, the new model will come with the standard rear-wheel-drive (RWD) system or optional four-wheel drive system (4WD).
2020 Nissan Armada Beats Toyota Sequoia and Chevy Tahoe in towing capacity
The newest 2020 Nissan Armada comes with great towing capacity. This model is rated to maximum tow up to 8,500 pounds. It beats the Toyota Sequoia SUV with its 7,500 pounds. However, in the same class and tow range is the popular Chevrolet Tahoe, while the Ford Expedition is the king with its 9,200 pounds.
Arrive and Price
The release date of the 2020 Nissan Armada is set for the end of the year 2019. As for the price, the base model with the rear-wheel-drive system will keep the same price range of $46,600.
However, the highly rated and top of the offer the Platinum trim will start at $60,000. If one adds the 4WD system to the Platinum trim the price will increase to $65,000. The upcoming 2020 Nissan Armada SUV will rival models Chevrolet Tahoe, GMC Yukon and Ford Expedition.
