The upcoming 2020 Lincoln KMC will hit the markets with some significant changes and upgrades. For the start, the crossover will get a new name. According to reliable sources, MKC will change its name into “Lincoln Corsair”. Also, the redesign is about to happen so we can expect to see all-new features and possibly a new styling.
Just like most of the carmakers, Lincoln is also slowly ditching its car lineup and it focusing on crossovers and SUVs. Newest spy photos are proof of significant changes we already read about. Black Label variant will be available once again and some speculations are suggesting new powertrain.
Lincoln MKC is Becoming “Lincoln Corsair”
You must admit, names such as MKZ or MKC aren’t attractive at all. It seems like Lincoln realized that recently. The automaker will replace all of the “MK” lineups and will deliver new name to each and every model. The 2020 Lincoln MKC is probably the first model that will get a new name. If the rumors are correct, new MKC will from now on ride on the “Corsair” name.
Interestingly, Corsair is not such a brand-new name in Lincoln’s history of vehicles. Ford Corsair was a popular model during the 1960s and Phantom Corsair was a concept from 1938. Furthermore, after the Aviator and Navigator models, Corsair makes perfect sense. These names are reminding us of World War II and Corsair is a sort of aeronautical reference and the type of the pirate ship.
Spy Photos
The forthcoming 2020 Lincoln MKC will go through a redesign. Newest spy shots are showing us exactly that. A prototype vehicle was spotted under the heavy camo but we can see plenty of changes despite the camouflage. New MKC or “Corsair” will borrow even more styling cues from the Aviator model.
The rear part hosts the same taillights as the taillights on the Aviator SUV. Even the bumper is similar, if not the same. Front fenders are all-new, along with the side mirrors. The front end will surely sport further changes, probably new front grille and redesigned headlight units.
2020 Lincoln MKC Engine
The new engine could be in the line. The 2020 Lincoln MKC could arrive with the new four-cylinder EcoBoost engine. This turbo engine will offer four-wheel-drive setup as an option while the front-wheel-drive will be standard.
Also, this engine will be optional, while the 2.0-liter four-cylinder will remain standard powertrain choice. Standard engine produces 240 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque. The hybrid model is just a speculation for now, but we can expect this type of drivetrain before 2022.
2020 Lincoln MKC Black Label
Every time when Lincoln is about to drop the new MKC model, Black Label variant is the most popular theme. This range-topping model offers astonishing luxury in every possible way. The price is far from affordable, but Black Label presents one of the most luxurious models on the planet. The 2020 Lincoln MKC Black Label will surely arrive once again. However, we still don’t know under the which name.
2020 Lincoln MKC Price and Release Date
The base 2020 Lincoln MKC model will start at about $35,000. On the other hand, the famous Black Label model won’t cost below $50,000. The all-new MKC will arrive under the name “Corsair” at the beginning of 2020.
