The forthcoming 2020 Kia Telluride is the company’s largest SUV ever. Telluride offers a luxurious interior with room for eight passengers over the three rows of seats. It is actually the third time we have seen Telluride in the near-production and it looks similar to the concept. The boxy SUV appearance will remain and the design is quite modern and attractive.
The 2020 Telluride offers a powerful V6 engine with the 8-speed automatic transmission. Moreover, optional all-wheel-drive setup is available and this SUV will share the platform with the Hyundai Palisade. According to Kia, Telluride will tow up to 5,000 pounds and the price will be on the verge of luxury.
2020 Kia Telluride Exterior Is Sporty And Aggressive
The 2020 Kia Telluride will look similar to the concept. Of course, some cues will slightly depart when it comes to the exterior. Whatsoever, Telluride will be Kia’s largest SUV, it looks robust and aggressive. The front end comes with a wide grille and the shape is slightly different than on the concept. Even the headlights are moved further into the corners and are sitting higher.
Generally, the front fascia is taller than everyone expected. Tow hooks should be in the offer as optional equipment. To the sides, Telluride looks sporty and the roofline is exactly the same as on the concept. In the back, taillights are looking modern and slightly wider. Unlike the front end, the rear part looks more dramatic thanks to the longer rear glass and thinner reverse lights.
2020 Kia Telluride Interior Design and Technology
From the inside, the 2020 Kia Telluride will offer plenty of luxury. The best part of the interior is leather upholstery. However, reclining third-row seats and plenty of room are equally important. There will be room for eight persons over the three rows of seats. Telluride adds a large 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Premium 630-watt Harman/Kardon 10-speaker audio system is also available. Full-size SUV also sports a large head-up display and numerous USB ports. Safety rating is excellent and Telluride comes with numerous standard driver aids. That includes adaptive cruise control and blind spot monitoring.
2020 Kia Telluride Powertrain
Kia’s largest SUV ever will ride on the same architecture as the Hyundai Palisade. However, the plan is to deliver better overall performance than the company’s last full-size SUV, Kia Borrego. Borrego model was available with the strong V8 engine that delivered a far from impressive fuel economy numbers.
Now, the 2020 Kia Telluride will arrive with the 3.8-liter V6 that is producing up to 291 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. It comes with 8-speed automatic transmission and the standard front-wheel-drive setup. However, the all-wheel-drive system is optional.
Towing Capacity and Fuel Economy
According to Kia, the 2020 Telluride will tow up to 5,000 pounds. Unfortunately, fuel economy numbers are not available. Surely, mileage will be better than on the Borrego model.
2020 Kia Telluride Price and Release Expectation
The upcoming 2020 Kia Telluride could easily end up in the category of luxury SUVs. However, pricing details are not available yet.
According to the latest speculations, Telluride will cost slightly more than the Kia Sorento, which means over $45,000. The full-size SUV will hit the dealerships later this year.
