The 2020 Jaguar E-Pace crossover will bring plenty of refreshments. The cabin will get a revamp and hopefully, it will introduce better materials this time. The five-seat layout will remain. E-Pace is Jaguar’s smallest and most affordable crossover.
It slots below the compact F-Pace. This model is very popular among the younger population and it looks very sporty. Under the hood, the 2020 E-Pace will ride on the same four-cylinder turbo engine. Also, trim levels should remain but we can expect further styling upgrades.
2020 Jaguar E-Pace Facelift
The exterior will mostly remain unchanged. That means the dimensions and shape will stay intact. However, some improvements will happen. For the start, LED headlights are narrower now. Air intakes are larger and grille now wears more chrome accents. To the sides, 17-inch alloy wheels are standard on the base model.
Upper trims will offer 18-inch and 19-inch wheels. Interestingly, 21-inch alloys are available, even on the base model. Higher trim levels sport satin materials and body-colored features such as bumpers. Gloss-black trim is optional on all trims. When it comes to features, the 2020 Jaguar E-Pace offers a lot of standard equipment. However, those premium features are still optional. That includes a hands-free power liftgate, panoramic moonroof and auto high beam headlamps. Furthermore, the new model is also a great off-roader. Thanks to its platform and all-wheel-drive systems the Jaguar E-Pace offers better Off-Road Capability than the Range Rover Evoque.
Premium Cabin
For the next-year model, Jaguar will introduce a more upscale cabin. The base model will look more premium than ever before. Cloth upholstery will remain standard. However, the interior of the 2020 Jaguar E-Pace will deliver more real wood and chrome accents. The dashboard will arrive with the same shape and layout. It comes with a 10-inch touchscreen.
Climate controls are looking very simple and analog gauges are present once again. A 12.3-inch full-digital cluster is standard too. Unlike the rest of Jaguar’s lineup, E-Pace won’t deliver a rotary shift knob. This small crossover will use a conventional console-mounted shift leveler. The infotainment system is updated and front seats are improved on the higher trims. Leather upholstery is standard on upper trims and contrast stitching is in the offer too.
2020 Jaguar E-Pace Powertrain
The forthcoming 2020 Jaguar E-Pace will return with the familiar engine. A 2.0-liter four-cylinder is available once again. This turbocharged engine is producing 246 HP and 270 lb-ft of torque. However, the same engine will be re-tuned in the P300 model, for example. P300 model will generate 296 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of twist.
A 9-speed automatic gearbox comes as standard. E-Pace is still far from its competitors when it comes to quickness. The base model sprints from 0 to 60 mph in 6.6 seconds. P300 model reaches the same goal in 5.9 seconds. The only available engine also comes with a torque vectoring and all-wheel-drive systems. On top of that, expect numerous driving modes and different types of special performance packages. Fuel economy on the base model is rated at 21 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway.
Price and Release Date
Brand-new 2020 Jaguar E-Pace will cost slightly above $40,000. S trim level is priced at $45,000 and P300 at $48,000. Range-topping R-Dynamic HSE trim is available for $55,000.
Jaguar’s newest compact crossover will hit the dealerships in the third quarter of 2019. There are a few models that will rival the new E-Pace and that includes Range Rover Evoque, Audi Q5, Volvo XC60, and BMW X5.
