The 2020 Hyundai Kona will be one of the most universal SUVs nowadays. Compact crossover SUV is available in gasoline, diesel, and electric variants. The interior of the all-new 2020 Hyundai Kona will look the same as on the current model. That includes already present 7-inch touchscreen, dual USB charging ports, and other standard features. The biggest upgrade will happen in the safety department. Kona now offers more standard advanced safety features.
That includes lane-keep assist, blind spot monitoring and driver-attention warning. The current Kona already won the Top Safety Pick+ award and the new model will be even safer. Some of the optional features are now standard and that is it when it comes to upgrades for 2020. Kona Electric will offer a slightly different and better interior. A 10.25-inch display is available and the center stack is wider.
Powertrain Specs
The upcoming 2020 Hyundai Kona will offer the same 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine as standard. This unit delivers 147 HP and 132 lb-ft of torque. The engine is available with the 6-speed automatic transmission. An optional 1.6-liter four-cylinder turbocharged diesel unit is rated at 175 horses and 195 lb-ft of torque. A 7-speed dual-clutch transmission will remain as the only gearbox choice. Both units are offering an all-wheel-drive setup as optional.
2020 Hyundai Kona Electric
The 2020 Hyundai Kona Electric will offer two different outputs. That means both standard and optional engine can be mated to an electric motor and the battery pack. Electric model will deliver 292 miles on a single charge and both outputs will produce over 200 lb-ft of torque. The performances are much better and Kona will sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 7.5 seconds.
Price and Release Date Of The 2020 Hyundai Kona
The base Kona model will start at around $26,000. The 2020 Hyundai Kona Electric won’t cost below $30,000. The all-new crossover SUV will hit the markets in the second half of 2019. Moreover, Hyundai promised eight crossovers in 2020.
