The all-new 2020 GMC Acadia will arrive this year with a facelift. Most of the experts expected minor updates, but GMC provided a surprise or two. The 2020 model will get plenty of updates and changes. That includes a new trim level for the start. Exterior design is now even better thanks to the brand-new grille. Acadia will also introduce further exterior changes that aren’t that significant.
From the inside, SUV is offering more storage space and updated technology. However, the most significant change will happen under the hood. A new 2.0-liter turbocharged engine will be in the offer. It looks like the Acadia SUV is ready to make a huge step forward in order to compete with the arch-rivals.
2020 GMC Acadia Exterior Facelift
It may sound strange, but the new 2020 GMC Acadia will look “smarter”. There will be so many upgrades on the 2020 model and some of those changes are really minor. The finest example is the all-new shark fin antenna. However, some significant refreshments will happen. For the start, front end now looks even more impressive. Plenty of chrome treatment around the c-shaped LED headlights and the all-new grille is visible.
New grille looks very attractive and modern. The hood will gain more muscles and generally, the front end looks bolder than before. The boxy appearance will remain and Acadia sometimes really look like a truck-like SUV. But everything on this model looks so modern and stylish at the same time. Rear end now hosts a redesigned taillights and new rectangular exhaust pipes. To the sides, turn indicators can now be found on the wing mirrors.
New AT4 Off-Road Trim Level
GMC is replacing the All Terrain trim with the new and more capable AT4 trim. This model comes with more black chrome finishes and more aggressiveness. Also, the 2020 GMC Acadia AT4 offers optional 20-inch wheels. The off-road variant also offers a slightly different AWD system with the twin-clutch setup with torque vectoring.
Under the hood, a powerful 3.6-liter V6 engine is providing 310 horsepower. A 9-speed automatic transmission is available as well. From the inside, Acadia AT4 looks more sporty and modern. Most of the features are finished in black color and this SUV gets cargo management system and new floor mats.
New 2.0-liter Turbocharged Engine
One of the most significant changes on the upcoming 2020 GMC Acadia will be the all-new 2.0-liter engine. This turbocharged four-cylinder unit is delivering 230 horses and 258 lb-ft of torque. A current 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine will remain.
This standard drivetrain returns 193 hp and 188 lb-ft of torque. A mentioned 3.6-liter V6 will remain standard on upper trims. Now, new 2.0-liter turbo engine slots between the standard and the optional engines. It provides great more power than the standard unit and it isn’t that much lazy.
2020 GMC Acadia Price and Release Date
Forthcoming 2020 GMC Acadia will cost slightly more than the current 2019 model. The current model is priced at $31,000 while the new one will cost around $32,000. Range-topping Denali trim will cost probably over $50,000. Acadia SUV will arrive later in 2019, probably around October.
