The forthcoming 2020 Aston Martin DBX will become the first SUV ever made by Aston Martin. The luxurious SUV will hit the car markets later in 2019, probably in the last quarter of the year. The production takes place in the company’s plant in South Wales. We already saw the prototype of the upcoming DBX model and the first impressions are very positive.
This SUV will look to offer something new, something that will slightly depart from the rest of the Aston Martin’s vehicles. An attractive look with the five-door design won’t disappoint you. The interior will, of course, offer a lot of luxury, which is expected. Moreover, the cabin will be very practical. The biggest mystery is, of course, the engine. Some well-informed sources are claiming the 2020 DBX will arrive with the V8 and V12 engines. Even the electrification is a possibility.
2020 Aston Martin DBX looks like a raised hatchback
The exterior of the brand new 2020 Aston Martin DBX will hold so many details. From the outside, the SUV looks like a raised hatchback. The front end is totally Aston and it holds the company’s design language. The large grille and slimmer headlights are the most notable cues for sure. The DBX looks athletic, especially the side profile. Door handles are strange but surely modern.
The rear end looks far sportier than the rest of the body. The rear spoiler sits atop the hatch and it looks very attractive. Generally, the SUV looks sporty, attractive and very modern. Moreover, the exterior hold premium materials, so you can forget about the plastic claddings and similar cheaper materials.
2020 Aston Martin DBX interior cues are taken from the DB11 model
The Aston Martin manufacturer provides few new images of the interior. The interior is based on the rest of the company’s vehicles. Knowing that the 2020 Aston Martin DBX will arrive with a luxurious cabin. The dash is taken from the DB11 model and it holds numerous buttons and switches. The sloping roofline is responsible for a slightly less headroom from the inside.
However, the legroom will be ample for sure thanks to a longer wheelbase. Even the cargo area will offer plenty of space. Unlike the rest of the competitors, DBX comes without frameless side windows, which may be an issue to some of the customers. Overall, it is a luxury SUV so expect plenty of upscale and premium materials, along with pure elegance.
2020 Aston Martin DBX powertrain and transmission system
The famous carmaker still remains silent on the possible powertrain options. However, it is more than obvious the 2020 Aston Martin DBX will arrive with either twin-turbo V8 of V12 choices. Moreover, Aston could offer one drivetrain as standard and other as an optional unit. Even the electrification is possible, but the less probable outcome, at least for now. A twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 from AMG delivers up to 503 horsepower which is a lot.
On the other hand, if Aston wants to compete with rivals such as Lamborghini, something bigger and stronger is a must. For that reason, the V12 engine is a more likely outcome. This engine creates 715 horses and 660 lb-ft of torque. The 8-speed automatic transmission is the only gearbox option, so you can forget about the manual one. An all-wheel-drive will be offered as standard.
2020 Aston Martin DBX price and release date

Besides the Urus, DBX will compete with the Audi Q8, Bentley Bentayga and BMW X6 M. This 2020 DBX will hit the markets exactly one year from now in the last quarter of 2019.
