The forthcoming 2019 Lincoln MKX is a luxury SUV will be replaced with the model Nautilus that can accommodate up to five passengers. The ride is soft and the handling is aggressive. What we like about the exterior of the 2019 Lincoln MKX or new Nautilus is that it looks similar to the Ford Edge. However, the MKX SUV comes with a unique styling and design. Up front, a split grille looks brilliant and the LED headlights are larger. The profile looks elegant and 18-inch wheels are standard. 20 and 21-inch rollers are optional.
The rear part gets beautiful wraparound taillights and most of the features are enlarged. Rectangular exhaust tips are all-new and the rear generally looks sportier. Muscular rear fenders are the same as before and Lincoln says there will be numerous exclusive exterior paints in the offer.
For now, we don’t know which colors will make a production. When it comes to features, standard are LED headlights and taillights, reverse-sensing system and heating side mirrors. Large Panoramic Vista Roof is optional, even on the Black Label model.
2019 Lincoln MKX interior is attractive and stylish
The 2019 Lincoln MKX will arrive with an elegant interior that offers plenty of high-quality materials such as leather upholstery. Furthermore, wood and aluminum accents are all over the cabin. The interior light is perfect thanks to the optional Panoramic Vista Roof.
The second row is very comfortable and there are 40 inches of legroom back there. The center stack holds a new Sync 3 system with the 8-inch touchscreen. It controls the audio system, navigation, Bluetooth and climate system. Premium Revel audio system with 19 speakers is optional on Select and Reserve models.
Plenty of styling cues will remain, so the shapes of the HVAC vents will stay intact. Soft leather surfaces are present, the technology is updated, just like the safety systems. Generally, the interior is refreshing and the front seats are 22-way power-adjustable. Standard features include a 360-degree camera, pre-collision assist, blind spot monitoring, automatic parallel parking and cross-traffic alert.
2019 Lincoln MKX engine options and fuel economy
Just like in the previous year, the 2019 Lincoln MKX will use same two drivetrain units. The standard engine is a 3.7-liter V6 that generates 303 hp and 278 lb-ft of torque. Both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive setups are in the offer. Fuel economy with the front-wheel drive is rated at 17 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway.
All-wheel drive configuration delivers 16 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway, which is slightly lower figures. For the additional $2,000 you can get an optional 2.7-liter twin-turbo GTDI engine. This efficient V6 can produce up to 335 horses and 380 lb-ft of twists.
The fuel economy is almost the same, 18/25 mpg with the FWD and 17/24 mpg with the AWD system. Both units are available with the 8-speed automatic transmission that is quick and smooth. Moreover, a start/stop technology is in the offer and it slightly improves fuel economy.
2019 Lincoln MKX Black Label
The Black Label is the range-topping trim level of the 2019 Lincoln MKX. This exclusive model is equipped with the latest safety and technology amenities. Moreover, the exterior looks meaner and more aggressive. The Black Label model adds plenty of packages.
For an instance, Climate and Luxury Package are standard. Technology Package, Driver’s Assistance Package, Trailer Tow Package are all optional. The exterior comes with the satin-roof rack side rails and numerous premium exterior paints.
You can opt for the colors such as Rhapsody Blue, White Platinum Metallic, Burgundy Velvet Metallic and much more. Unique badging, black-out exterior, adaptive suspension and torque vectoring control are available as well.
2019 Lincoln MKX price and release date
The forthcoming 2019 Lincoln MKX will cost slightly below $40,000. Optional V6 with the AWD setup will take you up to $43,500. The top-line Black Label models start at $55,000. Loading optional features on the Black Label model will cost up to $68,000.
The prices are slightly higher than Acura RDX and in line with the Cadillac XT5. Volvo XC60 and Audi Q5 are offering slightly higher starting prices. This luxurious mid-size SUV will hit the markets in the first half of 2019.
