The upcoming 2019 Honda Element is a compact crossover that offers very unique and distinctive design. Moreover, its boxy shape is recognizable and it makes a real standout. However, you either like it or not. The exterior really looks like a minivan, but Element model is a real SUV.
The new generation is coming and 2019 Honda Element will ride on CR-V platform. Moreover, this crossover is a real family-favorite and the interior is both roomy and comfortable. The interior will see the latest technology systems and that includes phone integrations such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Honda offers numerous trim levels and there is no significant difference between the trims. Optional all-wheel-drive setup is recommendable and the ride feels both quiet and smooth.
2019 Honda Element exterior remains boxy
For the start, the 2019 Honda Element will hold an all-new exterior design. As we mentioned, the 2019 model will mark the start of a new generation, however, the boxy shape will remain. As the concept is showing, we expect new and larger bumpers, both front and rear. The front grille looks aggressive and the headlights will provide a distinctiveness. Generally, the design is very unique and the hood looks really sharp. Additional aluminum work will provide better efficiency and the overall weight is lighter than ever before. The xenon headlights are standard and LED units are optional.
To the sides, Honda offers 17-inch wheels as standard and 18-inch alloy wheels as an option. Honda likes to offer a rearview camera as standard on all of its models, and 2019 Element is no different. The overall dimensions are slightly reduced and Honda Element is now a real compact crossover SUV. However, we still don’t know if Element will belong to the subcompact class. The handling is superb and generally, Element is easy to maneuver. After all, its purpose is a city ride, but yes, you can use it for longer trips as well. The colors that come standard include Orange, Black, Blue, Silver.
2019 Honda Element interior is modern and classy
The interior of the all-new 2019 Honda Element can accommodate up to five persons. Everything from the inside looks modern and classy. The dash will add a new LCD touchscreen and we can expect the latest version of the infotainment system. The system will support Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, along with the navigation, Bluetooth and much more. The comfort is great, the seats are very supportive and rear seats are providing solid legroom. Moreover, you can fold the rear seats flat and create more space for cargo. Overall, the space inside the cabin is ample for a compact crossover.
Thanks to the great interior layout, headroom and legroom are better on the 2019 Honda Element. Another display sits on the center console and it shows all of the vehicle’s important information. The 2019 Element will offer a Honda Sensing Package, a set of numerous safety and driver’s systems. The new model will include a cruise control and lane departure warning as standard. Upper trims will offer even more safety amenities as standard.
2019 Honda Element powertrain
Just like in any department, the 2019 Honda Element will get the update under the hood. New drivetrain is a 2.4-liter four-cylinder unit that delivers 150 HP and 160 lb-ft of torque. This engine provides 20 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway and it uses a 5 and 6-speed automatic transmissions.
Additionally, the fuel economy figures will change through the trim levels. New brakes are in the line, along with the new suspension. Moreover, the 2019 Element could get an optional drivetrain, but this is a speculation for now. The rumored engine is a 1.5-liter that generates 190 horses and 180 lb-ft of twists.
Hybrid version
While the overall effect is better than before, the customers are waiting for something that will deliver better mileage. For that reason, Honda is planning to introduce a hybrid system. The hybrid variant will use a standard four-cylinder unit that is paired with an electric motor. For that reason, the new Element will get slightly more horses and much better mileage. Unfortunately, a hybrid version will not happen before 2020. An all-wheel-drive configuration is optional.
