The 2019 Ford Explorer now comes with a better interior that offers more comfort, more upscale materials and new infotainment system. Moreover, the exterior will suffer a redesign and it will look amazing. The upcoming Explorer will be used as a police interceptor in the U.S. which means it will switch to the rear-wheel drive system. Moreover, the new platform is in the line, hybrid variant and even an ST version that will replace Explorer Sport.
2019 Ford Explorer exterior is unique and specific
The forthcoming 2019 Ford Explorer will suffer a redesign which will include a new platform as well. This SUV will now ride on the same platform as the Lincoln Aviator and it will switch to the rear-wheel-drive configuration. As the spy shots are emerging, we didn’t have the opportunity to find out something more about the exterior specifics.
However, Ford releases hybrid model photos as this model will be used as the police interceptor. We had the opportunity to see a sloping roofline, pronounced beltlines, and angular creases. Moreover, longer hood and more aggressive nose are providing the mean stance for this SUV. LED headlights up front are standard, the bumper will look different and larger, just like the front grille.
2019 Ford Explorer interior looks good
Ford says that the Explorer will ride on a latest modular CD6 architecture, however, the dimensions and cabin space will remain the same. That means the legroom and headroom will be ample as before, which is a good thing. There are seven seats available inside the cabin and the level of comfort is now higher too.
Tech-rich interior looks astonishing and Ford offers plenty of standard features. Moreover, basically, all the important safety systems were included as well. Backup cameras, more airbags, and some new safety aids are in the offer and this shows us how the 2019 Ford Explorer is moving toward the families.
2019 Ford Explorer ST review
Rumors are becoming true, the popular Explorer Sport model will be replaced for the Explorer ST variant. Plenty of Ford’s models got the famous “ST” version, and Ford Edge is the latest example. The Explorer ST will get a 3.5-liter V6 unit that returns 405 HP and the all-wheel-drive setup will be optional. The exterior will get astonishing and sportier look, the new sporty suspension is in the offer too.
